I would not go here if you are celiac. Wait staff had no idea on anything . They have mislabeled menus including French fry’s as gluten sensitive , cooked in a shared fryer ! Also wondering about the fresh made nachos , Fried ? Also on the gluten sensitive menu. We will not be back. When we showed him the fry’s, he said “ that’s out of my control” . 👎🏾

"As America’s Favorite Neighbor, the health and safety of our guests are top priorities at Applebee’s. As part of our commitment to you, we provide the most current allergen information available from our food suppliers on eight common allergens plus gluten and added monosodium glutamate (MSG), so that our guests with food allergies can make informed food selections. Please be aware that during normal kitchen operations involving shared cooking and preparation areas, including common fryer oil, the possibility exists for food items to come in contact with other food products. Due to these circumstances, we are unable to guarantee that any menu item can be completely free of allergens."
Has some items marked on menu as Gluten Sensitive, but doesn't have alternate bread options or a gluten-free fryer

I ordered the Blackened Cajun Salmon and ultimately sub’d the mashed potatoes for white rice.
GS options on menu (these items don’t necessarily exclude gluten but you can request the gluten items be removed or sub’d). As expected, the waiter wasn’t knowledgeable but when I explained that I celiac and need to be sure about cc he got nervous and said he would send his manager over because he didn’t want to make any mistakes. I very much appreciated that. It’s one thing to not be knowledgeable and another thing to own it and be sensitive to the needs of the customer still. Thankfully, the manager was very knowledgeable because she has a family member who the celiac (very lucky for me!) and she introduced me their online interactive allergen menu. We looked through ingredients together and we both thought I should be safe with my order but we decided on alternative if they had it available in the kitchen. She personally spoke with the chef. As with all chains (any restaurant really, right?) there’s risk of cc but I had no issues on this particular visit, I’m sure thanks to this manager being so knowledgeable, deliberate, and hands on.

So every time I come here I feel kind of left out because all I can get is a drink and a salad or something.
