The menu says they gluten-free french fries, but they don’t have a dedicated fryer, and they cross contaminate.

Do not eat here if you are Celiac. I am non-celiac gluten intolerant but do have reactions to cross contamination. I asked the workers to change their gloves and they happily did so, which was nice. However, I ordered what they said was gluten free and immediately after felt a reaction coming on. This place is not safe from cross contamination and probably not actually gluten free.

Would give them 0 stars if I could. I have eaten there two different times and gotten violently ill before even leaving the restaurant both times. After the first time, I gave them the benefit of the doubt thinking it could have been an outlier since other people have had great experiences. No such luck. I even watched everyone change gloves so it has to be cross contamination in the cooking process.

Wow I can't believe people are saying this place is safe for Celiac or any level sensitivity. They have gloves covered with each food item and gluten going in every bin. Did not change gloves and when I pointed it out, they did not give me new sides. They also put everything on a contaminated tray/sheet. Everything was covered in grease that probably had gluten in it. Total nightmare, definitely avoid this place. Awkwardly didn't eat it even though I came with an important person.

Staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. They have an allergy menu behind the counter.
I have celiac and had a great experience at 4 Rivers. Very knowledgeable upfront and had a very detailed allergen menu. I did ask about pulled pork since it says it's gluten free but does have soy. I asked and they said it does have Kikoman soy sauce which does contain gluten. So I chose the sliced pork & chicken wings which don't contain either one. Both were fantastic! Great sweet potato casserole too.

We had to see what all the fuss was about.... I was impressed that they had one laminated allergen guide available. Not impressed with all the grease on it but it was a barbecue place, after all. We had the chicken plate and the smoked turkey with collard greens, baked grits and potato salad. Nothing was worth going back for. Though I don't have Celiac so I can't tell right away when I eat gluten, I'm very careful. Sonny's on Timberlane (off Thomasville Rd.) took special care to provide gluten-free dinners last time we went and the food b is better. They also have wait staff there, and aren't wasting all that Styrofoam and plastic like Four Rivers. Wish I could've attached a photo of the dead fly on the table next to us. It was nice the bathrooms were clean and they provide a sink to wash hands near the door.

I have celiacs and have never gotten sick here. They have an allergens menu that clearly lists what is gluten free. I always let them know I have a gluten allergy and they immediately change gloves and make a note on my tray. Several meats and sides are gf and they even have gf cookies! Plus it's all delicious!!

Celiac diner, very sensitive to cross contamination and we had a great meal here! The bbq beans and coleslaw sides were delicious, we enjoyed the brisket, pulled pork and then loaded baked potato!

Meats and sauces GF. Clear explanations on website. Solid BBQ at a decent price and even has vegan options. Possible contamination risk when serving rolls etc if not advised prior, but overall feels pretty safe with the meats served by ladles.

I'm sorry to say that I had a different experience than others did here. The server changed her gloves and I ordered salad with pulled chicken. I had a reaction to the chicken and suspect the spices are not safe.
