Love it here, the waiter always comes over and marks up the menu with what’s safe (after asking about cross contamination) and there are plenty of tasty options (the brussels sprouts are crispy and safe and delicious)

Went for lunch, however, they were only serving brunch. Barely any safe options, other than a plate of eggs and meat. Extremely flour/baked item heavy. Ended up leaving and going somewhere else.

The waitress marked up the menu to make it clear which options were or could be adjusted to be celiac safe. On top of that, when every plate was brought to the table, the waitress and/or bus boy vocalized whether or not it was a GF plate. The food itself was delicious & would very much recommend.

10 outta 10 here. Delicious food and some great options that can be made without cc. REALLY good gf bread and burrata which is never offered gf. Waiter marked up my menu and wrote “gluten allergy no cross contamination” at the top. The woman next to me looks over and points out her menu was marked up too! The wait staff said “safe for gluten allergy” for the dishes being brought over. Gorgeous and cozy restaurant with great drinks. Definitely a new favorite

The food here is amazing. They don’t have a GF menu or a dedicated kitchen but they understand GF and food allergies really well. Our waitress took my menu and marked it up with everything that is naturally GF or what substitutions needed to be made to make something GF and crossed out anything that is not ok. And I heard her discussing food allergies with someone at another table in great detail. I went for brunch and they have the BEST GF bread. Everything was delicious.

I ate here for lunch on a Saturday and did not get sick. When the server introduced herself, she asked if anyone had dietary restrictions. When I told her I couldn’t have gluten, she (a) asked if cross contact was an issue for me and (b) offered to mark my menu to show which items were safe. Between two people we shared the broccoli, latkes, and shakshuka. It was a little too much food, but I really loved the broccoli. The latkes were a little oily and limp, and I’m not sure I liked their approach more than the classic version.

The waitstaff was so accommodating, and when I told them I had celiacs they marked the menu with what I could eat. They were clearly very knowledgeable and I didn’t feel sick at all after eating here. The food was delicious and they had great variety.

I don't know if I just had a one-off bad experience, since all the reviews here note amazing/safe meals, but I felt glutened after eating here. Everything seemed to be fine throughout the experience - our waitress was extremely knowledgeable and provided me with a marked-up menu, and noted that the two things my boyfriend and I wanted (the ora salmon and braised beef) could be pan seared for us to share. She also emphasized just how seriously the kitchen takes cross contamination and allergies/dietary restrictions, and was able to have the kitchen make a panna cotta without the brown sugar crumble for us as well. The food was absolutely divine and I would be willing to try this place again, but given my symptoms post-meal I am a little cautious. It seems to be celiac-friendly based on others' experiences so I'll leave my rating as such, pending the outcome of my next meal here.

Sometimes dishes just blow you away. This was my experience with the basil carrot pasta. This dish was a delectable experience! I had no negative reactions and can say this dish goes to the top of my list for best pasta’s both pre and post going gluten free. I highly recommend it! Many thanks to the chef and the thoughtful and courteous staff!

Our server seemed knowledgeable about celiac and made several suggestions. We had the Hickory Smoked Carrots, Patatas Bravas and The Salmon. The food was delicious and we had no issues.

This restaurant is delicious!! There are things that are gluten free. The waitstaff seems well trained with providing guidance.
I have celiac and had no problems. I had my heart set on their salmon, so they omitted one thing that had gluten in the dish. It was SO GOOD I was tempted to get take out from there tonight!
The cocktails are inventive and tasty too.
I had no issues with eating here. I recommend you try it when in Cambridge!

Server was celiac and marked menu. Many choices and tasty food. Fried Brussels sprouts especially.

Small plates food is decent but they take great care of you if you have allergies or celiac.

Michael Scelfo is one of the most dynamic and creative chefs in Boston, and I’m delighted that I can still dine at them. Of the 3, this one has the most GF options on the menu. Staff will mark your menu, crossing off all items and ingredients unsafe to eat. Dedicated kitchen space and friers. My favorite things are the kale salad with pistachio dressing, the Wellfleet clams, and the “secret” burger. My one gripe with the Scelfo restaurants is that I don’t really like their GF bread. Cornbread based, it’s thick and crumbly like panettone; way too thick for sandwiches or burgers.
Yes
Amazingly knowledgeable waitress, marked everything I could and couldn’t eat on the menu, even asked about cross contamination. All GF meals brought to the table were known by servers and I enjoyed the many things I got to try! Highly recommend. And they have GF bread for burrata and the clam dish!

Alden & Harlow is amazing! The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and GF and celiac - asked whether my gluten free questions were due to an allergy or preference, marked up a menu indicating what was already GF and what could be modified to accommodate GF, gave a detailed explanation of each dish I was interested in, and ensured me the kitchen would be informed of my allergy, change gloves, wipe down surfaces, etc. to avoid cross contamination. I appreciated that they knew exactly what to ask and how to respond accordingly, and their attention to all of these details. All in all, I felt super safe eating here and had no issues.
The items on the food menu are meant to be small, share-able plates, and are a little pricy but OMG delicious! We got the kale salad, roasted carrots and patatas bravas; this was enough for 2 of us to split for dinner and everything was so so so good. Perfect for a special occasion or a treat-to-self kinda day. Will definitely be back!

This is my new favorite restaurant for a date night or fancy night out. My boyfriend and I came here for a special night out, and the food, atmosphere, wait staff, and location were all exactly what we were looking for. He is vegetarian and I have Celiac and a honey allergy. I noted our dietary restrictions on my open table reservation. Our waitress introduced herself and the next words out of her mouth were “I heard that one of you has Celiac and a honey allergy. I’ve got you covered.” She marked our menu to note which menu items were already gluten free, and which ones could be adapted. We ended up ordering three dishes and a dessert (butterscotch pudding!) that we could both share, plus one more small dish for my boyfriend. One of their bartenders had Celiac and prepared my drink, which was one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had (Aloe Way Up). The wait staff was attentive without being overbearing. The bartender at one point saw that we were looking around for our waitress and promptly came over and asked if she could help (I’d forgotten to ask for no roe on one of the dishes). Every dish came out to perfection and we left so happy! To top it off, I had absolutely no symptoms post-meal. We are already thinking about when we can return!

Absolutely exceptional, especially for those with Celiac or gluten sensitivity. Many of the menu items were already gluten free, and the staff (who were all well-trained in menu ingredients) literally marked up my menu with a pen so I would know which plates were definitely safe, could be made safe with a substitution, or were definitely not safe. They make incredible gluten free bread in house and didn't charge me when I asked for a couple slices on the side. The cocktails and alcohol selection were also excellent, and the ambiance was great to boot. I would have been impressed with A&H totally independent of my gluten issues, but they really went above and beyond. I will definitely be coming back and telling my friends with gluten issues to check this place out!

Amazing and so many GF options!! They had GF bread to substitute in for all the toast options - the avocado toast was to die for!! We loved everything we ordered and my non celiac friends love their meals too! The ambiance is so cool. A little pricey though but worth the experience.
