I have eaten here a LOT and never gotten sick. Staff are usually all knowledgeable and if not are friendly and willing to ask. They have a dedicated dryer and awesome waffle fries, GF fried pickles, fried Buffalo cauliflower…. Even a gluten free fried fish meal! Atmosphere is fun and casual, highly recommend!

This was such a wonderful gem in the middle of a long drive through Nebraska. I had House Cut fries and the Plain Jane burger with cheese on a gluten free bun and my favorite part is that they had 5 flavors of shakes you could choose from! I got the King shake with peanut butter and banana. Not much banana flavor but it was delicious and the fact I could have a shake was awesome!
I am posting this about 24 hours after eating and have not felt sick at all. I am very sensitive to cross contamination.
Would definitely eat here again.

Gluten intolerant. Tasty food with a few decent GF options. The online menu wasn't labeled, so I had to call to verify some GF options. I had a GF cheeseburger (Tavern Inn or Drive Inn Burger?), fries, and Buffalo wings with no issue. Kinda spendy though, just FYI.

Went to eat because reviews here said they had gluten free buns they did, gluten free menu had loaded fries, the loaded fries came out with gravy, this was a different waiter so i told them my condition and asked for plain fries. Plain fries came out, and they were made in the non-separate fryer.

They have a separate GF menu, and have eaten here 3 times before with no problem. Today we ordered the crab Rangoon fries off of the GF menu. Waiter assured us they would be cooked in a separate frier. Dish came out with fried wontons on it (which is listed on the main menu, but not on the GF menu). Mentioned to the waiter, and he was oblivious. Asked to speak to the chef, who also had ZERO idea that wontons weren’t GF. I pretty sure they put them in the dedicated GF frier, which contaminated the whole thing. They offered to remake, but we feel unsafe eating anything here now.

I’ve been to this restaurant many times and I love their food. Out of the dozens of times I’ve ate here I’ve only been cross contaminated once. I would advise avoiding the gluten free buns unless it’s made clear that it needs to be toasted on a washed section of the grill as my one attempt with a bun led to cross contamination. I stick with the fish and chips and wings now and I’ve always been safe with those choices.

I got extremely sick after eating here even though I was reassured by the wait staff both the bun and contents of my burger were gluten-free. It was very tasty but definitely not worth the hours of vomiting that came with it.

The food was great and the staff was super knowledgeable. They have a dedicated fryer so I thoroughly enjoyed their fries. They also offer very good (and not dry!) gluten free buns for their burgers. I got the jam burger and it was delicious!
The cook was very unprofessional. My server told him I was celiac and needed to have GF protocol. He argued with her and said that fryer was not a dedicated fryer. Since I over heard the comment and argument, I got up from my table and joined the convo. I said you advertise GF, i need to know for sure if it is Gf. The cook then said that it’s a shared fryer and that it doesn’t really matter when it’s early In the day and I should be fine. I told him that it did matter to me and that a reaction could make me very sick. I asked to speak to manager. She came out to talk to me and apologized for his attitude and said that he was wrong. She showed me the designated fryer. Although I appreciated her showing me and apologizing I had little confidence in the food preparation. After all if the cook isn’t educated how do I know he doesn’t contaminate the designated fryer. I was hesitant to eat anything and did not enjoy my experience at all. Update as of three hours after my visit: I’m updating from my bathroom. Sharp stomach pains . Enough said. The cook obviously didn’t care about gf protocol.

Great place when you need something after a long day of driving! Super clean location and friendly staff. I had the caramelized onion burger and a strawberry shake. Very delicious. The milkshake was made with real ice cream and strawberries! My server was knowledgeable and asked the kitchen about all my questions! Would definitely return on another road trip.
Yes
I enjoyed the gluten free battered snapper, deep fried in a dedicated fryer. Staff was knowledgeable and willing to make sure your food was gluten free.

On vacation and stopped for the night in Kearney. Recently reopened from remodeling. Food is great. Gluten free buns. All fried foods are gluten free except the onion rings. Gluten free beer battered fish and chips are good. They have a gluten free beer that even tastes like real beer! A bit noisy but they were busy as it was Friday night. I would go back when in this area again.
Drove out of our way to come here and it is “closed until further notice”.
Awesome food! I've only been able to have fish and chips one other time in Maine. Fish and chips were great. The Nebraska Farmer Burger had to be the best gluten free bun and burger I've ever had. I've been celiac for 10 years and travel several times a year, so finding a great place to eat that is celiac friendly is sometimes hard. Definitely an A+ in my book.

The staff was super friendly, knowledgeable and quick. The food was amazing! We would definitely stop here again. Thais was an amazing waitress! Highly recommend for kids and adults with celiac. We had the burgers and the fish. They say they use udi’s buns but they taste better than the ones we get in the grocery store!
Yes
The staff did check with the kitchen regarding dedicated GF fryer for fries etc. But my son had an Angus “plain Jane” burger with a GF bun and skinny fries from the GF fryer and got sick from cross-contamination

Dedicated fryer Fabulous fish and chips The perfect place to stop after a day of teavel. Causal ambience, kid friendly, full bar Music and TV

I had the plain jane burger with sweet potato tots. They have separate grill area for gf buns and burgers, and they have a gf fryer. It all came up clean all my Nima.
Yes
The fish and chips were amazing! The server said the best in town (even stacking up against non-GF). I’d say they were the second best fish and chips that I’ve had in the world (west coast US and Ireland are the contenders). Disappointed that I couldn’t try a burger as they all looked amazing, and there was only 1 burger on the menu that they couldn’t make GF. I think there were a total of 5 things on the menu that weren’t GF. Fantastic place to eat, wish it were a franchise!

Great gluten-free options. Dedicated fryer! Very knowledgeable and helpful. Non-gf family members loved it too!
Great food and service. Very fresh! Knowledgeable staff. Looking forward to my next visit.

This place was AMAZING! The kids devoured their food, which is rare cause, you know, kids. Our daughter has celiac and they were completely celiac-friendly. Dedicated fryer and very knowledgeable. We’re on a road trip and this was an oasis in the middle of NE. Of all the places we’ve eaten on a road trip spanning 4 states, this was by far the best. Very clean as well. We live in CO and are trying to figure out how we can justify a 5-hr road trip to eat here again.
Yes
Very friendly, knowledgeable staff. EXCELLENT choices for a person dealing with the celiac condition

One of the best, if not the best, burger I’ve literally ever had. There was gluten free burger buns and I most of the burgers are gf. I didn’t get sick after I ate here and if I wasn’t just passing though this would be my go to spot.

This place is amazing! Staff is knowledgable, food is delicious, and there are several GF items to choose from. What a nice surprise in Kearney, NE!

Knowledgeable staff. Lots of gluten free options. Made a custom burger that was excellent. Best gluten free hamburger bun I have ever had. Sweet potato tots were wonderful with the homemade mustard. Highly recommend. I will be a return customer. Celiac safe.

Great meal! Extensive GF choices on the menu. I enjoyed my fish and chips, while my girls split a GF cheeseburger and fries. The toasted marshmallow shakes was super yummy too! Great stop in Kearney when traveling!

Food was good, and service was excellent. Staff is knowledgeable about gf. When we thought we lost s cellphone, they went the extra mile by searching the trash and the laundry. We found the phone in the car. Highly recommend this place.

We stopped here today. The place was very clean and the staff was nice. There were several options that could be made gluten free with the gluten free bun option. The waitress seemed knowledgeable and said they are very careful to plan the menu to give celiac's some good choices. She also told us that the straight fries and waffle fries are gluten free but the curly fries are not. we ordered the waffle fries and they came out with some sort of seasoning. looked and tasted like Arby's fries. so we did not finish them. The straight fries were good though. We also had cheese burgers and chips and chili cheese. . and a strawverry shake. So far no cross contamination symptoms. There were also gluten free brew options but we didn't try any of them today.

Wow! We came when this place just opened up and were very impressed! A vast majority of the menu can be gluten free. They had 3 types of fries - all made in a dedicated gluten free fryer. And it just tastes awesome.
