The waitress was super helpful and patient. They clearly mark which dishes are gluten free. I had the masaman curry and it was amazing. I didn’t see any alcohol I could have (besides wine) but the waitress informed me they can switch the vodka in certain drinks to Tito’s brand! This will be a regular spot for me when visiting Charleston.

Food was soooo good! I got the pad thai and duck salad (actually two servings of the pad thai)! The staff is knowledgeable and caring about Celiac. Would definitely go again!!!

I am ultra sensitive and I get reaction from Basil. Not sure if it is the MSG or cross contamination but definitely not 100% for me.
I am so thankful for Basil Thai. I had a coconut soup, an appetizer that was lettuce wrap style and Pad Thai. I loved the Pad Thai!
Very tasty food, great service. Menu clearly marked. Best of all I didn't get sick.
Great Pad Thai - clear menu

Fantastic Thai food for gluten-free eaters and gluten eaters alike! There are quite a few menu options for GF, and they all taste delicious! They staff is knowledgeable and helpful.

Gluten free food is marked on their menu. Contrary to another review, they use regular soy sauce for all the entrees (and didn't accommodate for us) and use gf soy sauce on the table which made it hard.
Very good. The main menu was clearly marked with many gluten free options. My table ordered Pad Thai, curry, beef satay, soup and Sweet and Sour chicken. All entrees came with an Asian coleslaw and white rice. The Pad Thai was awesome. The waiter informed me that they recently switched their house soy sauce used in the kitchen to a gluten free brand.

Great Pad Thai. Gluten free marked on the menu.
I saw they had pad Thai which is my favorite Thai dish so I didn't even look at how many gf dishes they offered. I told the waitress I couldn't eat gluten, and she took it very seriously. My meal was great although the shrimp and chicken were both slightly over cooked. I loved the noodles, sauce, and sprouts, and was thankful for a safe meal which is so hard to find in Asian restaurants.

The first time I visited Basil Thai (9/2014) I was IN LOVE with the pad thai! Hands down the best I ever had. I recently visited Basil again (March '15), and the waitress informed me that their restaurant had just changed their noodle supplier and the noodles are no longer gluten free. Big disappointment! Sadly, it really limited the menu and I won't be visiting again.
They have gluten-free sake (its also kosher and sulfite free). The spring rolls are amazing, have them leave out the peanuts and hoisen (plum) out of the dipping sauce. Coconut chicken soup is amazing!
Lots of gluten free options. I had the shrimp salad and loved it

The coconut soup and the duck salad are great
I didn't like it. Weird foods.

Amazing restaurant and very celiac friendly. I had the duck salad and Pad Thai, and both were amazing. There was a great selection of celiac friendly dishes and the staff were very knowledgeable. My favorite spot in Charleston.

Wonderful authentic Thai food. Excellent curry dishes and Pad Thai
Really enjoyed our meal here. Atmosphere, food and service were all excellent. Had a table by the window overlooking a small pond. They appeared to have outdoor seating in warmer weather. Menu was clearly labeled with gluten free options which included several appetizers and decent number of entrees. My husband and I tried the pad thai that came with chicken and shrimp and massaman beef curry. Both were excellent!

The food was good, but I got glutened. I was assured that they were careful about cross contact, but I think they deep fried some of the veggies in my curry in a shared fryer.

Very very sick right now.
I ordered chicken fried rice take out. Neither the receipt nor box were marked gluten free. I called to make sure it was gluten free as ordered. The manager sounded very annoyed and told me that the fried rice is naturally gluten free. However, the menu states that it can be made gluten free upon request. She advised that gf soy sauce is now automatically being used. I explained how sick gluten makes me. She again said the same thing in an annoyed voice.
Trust your instincts. I am now very sick. I am so disappointed to be glutened and the pain it causes. I should have known from her tone that she either didn’t understand or simply didn’t care.
