The menu was marked with GF and my server was knowledgeable, I got the seafood risotto and I was told it's be fine. However, when it came to the table it was garnished with something fried. As the server answered my question about what it was fried in, it was clear it clicked that that wasn't ok (the answer was "the fryer") and the food was quickly taken away and replaced with a new plate without the garnish. I appreciated the server knew it was wrong when asked, but disappointed the error wasn't caught before it was made and delivered. The final product tasted good!

We are from out-of-town; I’m here with my husband who’s here for business. The reviews we saw here were from years ago; however, we decided to take a chance, and I’m so glad we did. Megan took great care of us; she was wonderful— she caught that the tortilla chips that were served with a “gluten friendly” meal were, in fact, prepared in the same oil as other items— so she saved me from getting sick. Our meals were delicious, and the portions were generous while being fairly priced. I highly recommend the Black Pelican.

Went for a business meeting, they were more than accommodating and very friendly. Thanks again for helping with my dinner choices!
Truly amazing! Had gluten free wings for the first time ever! The shrimp and grits were so flavorful and delicious and they have Omission beer! My new favorite place!!!!
AMAZING!!! I had the swordfish ala OBX which was blackened and topped with corn salsa. It came with rice pilaf and roasted vegetables. There's nothing they could've done to make it better!
