Went to Brabo Brasserie in Alexandria for dinner yesterday. It was amazing. From their Restaurant Week menu they are able to do the following gf: the two salads in the small plates, the salmon, the beef bourguignon, the duck leg w/o the garlicky frites, and the scoop of ice cream. The creamy polenta and mushrooms are also safe. I had the Burrata & Heirloom Tomato Salad with the Duck Leg Confit (I got to have the garlicky frites because they had just changed out the oil to fresh oil, cleaned the fryer and had yet to cook anything in it at that time but she said you could sub additional salad for the frites) and a scoop of their blood orange sorbet. Everything was delightful though I'd say the garlicky frites, while nicely cooked weren't as fantastic as they sounded. Our waitress seemed very knowledgeable but always double checked with the chef.

Brabo has a wonderful happy hour where the entire bar menu is half price. Brabo is known for their mussels and can make them gluten free (minus the fries). They have the best mussels I have have ever had. A huge pan of mussels + a glass of wine is $20. A great price for the DC area.
