Went to lunch today with an elderly relative- a few dietary restrictions—the menu was slightly problematic- the staff was terrific& went out of their way to serve a delicious meal- did not get waitresses name - she was also sweet& it was a very nice experience
Menu has clear markings for gluten free items. Good food, great view, helpful staff.
They have items noted that are vegan, vegetarian, gf. Place was clean and friendly I ordered a cold seafood salad. It came w/3slices of toasted bread. I asked the waitress if it was listed as gf on menu, thought I made a mistake, she checked and it’s listed gf. I told there was bread on the plate and said that was something new added. Did the explanation, got a new plate, supposedly, I have to say it was delicious, and I didn’t get sick
The chips and guacamole are NOT CELIAC SAFE. Though the menu labels gluten free, they are in a shared fryer. The seafood entrees are fine, but options are very limited for celiac.

There aren't a lot of places on the Rockaway Peninsula that make me feel comfortable to eat. The manager of Bungalow Bar was knowledgeable and created a good list with Gluten Free options. There are PLENTY!!!!! They take precautions to make guests aware, however this is not a dedicated GF place. I had the fish tacos (comes on a corn tortilla) and Mussels Fra Diablo (order with NO bread) and they were delicious. I am looking forward to trying the risotto and the kale and quinoa salad next!
