Had the lamb shank- was delicious. GF items marked on menu are soup with lamb, steamed cod ( husband had and was very good) and the lamb shank. They had a local GF beer that was good. They do offer a GF cake. Would definitely go back!

Busy cafe near the church. Wait staff was very polite but slow. There are 3 main dishes on the menu marked as gluten free. I had the meat soup, it was ok, my partner had the cod (a gf dish) and he said it was very good.

Only a few gluten free options, clearly labeled, but the meat soup was very good. They also seemed to have gluten free beer listed on the wall.
Not sure about cross contamination, as when i asked about the soup - she said "gluten is only on the bread, so no bread?"

I really enjoyed this restaurant and would go back if I could! Gluten free options are marked on the menu, but it’s also worth knowing that they have gluten free bread (Schär). A lot of their options are not gluten free because they’re served on bread, ask about getting it on gluten free bread instead!

The Meat Soup is naturally GF and the best I had after trying many places. So good. They have 2 other GF meal offerings that I didn’t try because the soup was good (i went there 2 times). They also serve this “healthy cake” that is kind of like a dense carrot/coconut bread, but dry and hard. I do not recommend that. Just eat the soup. So good.

There were 3 marked gluten free items. GF standards by law here are under 20 ppm but can also include barley and malt. Not sure why.
when I asked the waitress if she could confirm those were not in there or any cross contamination she said “I sure hope not!”

Celiac aware and super friendly staff!!!

It’s quite expensive and there aren’t loads of options but you do have a choice. Portions are very good and staff are very accommodating.

Cafe Loki came recommended by a person with gluten intolerance who was working in the tourism office downtown. The staff seems to know their menu well and can avail you of safe items. Like many cafes, the kitchen is small, so I worried about cross contamination but I didn't get sick at all. I did confirm what I ordered by asking the waitress to read a Celiac Travel card in Icelandic. Delicious food!
