They said they had gluten free pasta and that their sauce was gluten free but Nima disagreed. Gluten detected in both the pasta and sauce. This place is NOT celiac safe.

Was told about this place from a friend with Celiac who is EXTREMELY SENSITIVE to cross contamination. We tried it for my newly diagnosed 16 year old son. I called in the order & explained it was for a gluten allergy. Ordered a GF pizza, 1/2 white pizza & 1/2 regular with sausage. Asked for crust well done. My son LOVED it & we were so happy that he was able to enjoy 1 of his favorite meals! Will definitely be back!

Never again will I order from Cafe Spiga. I ordered a regular pie and a gluten free pie with sauce, vegetables, and NO cheese. The gf pie was for my wife who has several allergies. When I arrived to pick up the order, the gf pie had cheese, which she is allergic to. The nice woman at the counter apologized and they began making a new pie. No big deal. When it came out, the pie now had sausage instead of sauce. Now I was aggravated. I started to call my wife to see if she still wanted me to wait for a 2nd pie and a very angry man came out of the kitchen. He took both pies away and told me they would cancel my order. He said that they were short staffed and said “what do you want,” as if it was my fault that they messed up the order twice. (Three times actually as they messed up my order on the previous visit.) At this point my family had been waiting over an hour for dinner and I really did not want the entire order canceled. He then told me to “get the F**K out of his restaurant.” I was in complete shock and disbelief that he would act that way towards a customer. I was not wrong to be upset that they continually messed up my order. He said that I was acting like it was the end of the world and that I should “get the F**K out.” He threw the regular pie on top of the oven and stormed off into the kitchen where he continued to yell over and over again that I “could get he F**K out.” Who does that? Who screams obscenities at a paying customer? Well, fine. No more birthday party orders, no more dinners, no more recommendations to friends and family. Further, I will make sure to tell as many people as possible how rudely I was treated. Never again will I order from Cafe Spiga.

I’ve gotten sick after eating there. I’m guessing there is a lot of cross contamination in their kitchen. This place is a no go for any celiac people.

CELIACS AVOID this restaurant!! It pains me to write this review, but i dont want other celiacs to go through what i did.... When i moved into the area, i couldnt have been more ecstatic that there was a italian restaurant w/a gluten free menu near by that delivered! I just gave birth and had no time to cook, so it was perfect. The first time i ordered i got concerned since NOTHING was labeled "gluten free". I called and they assured me my food was safe. Next time i called i asked for my food to be properly labeled, it wasn't. Each time i ordered, i crossed my fingers in hopes it was safe for me. I am a Celiac to the extreme. The last time i ordered, i received calamari that was NOT gluten free and got horribly sick. I called the restaurant several days later and they acknowledged their mistake and said they are working on labeling their food 'gluten free" and getting separate packaging for it. This is a simple task that should've been done from day one. How hard is it to at least take a sharpie and write "gluten free" on the container and advise your staff??
