Great menu selection and food! Love that I can have the chips and dip:)
Overall, I was pleased with this restaurant. They had a gluten-free menu readily available and though our server was not completely familiar with GF, she tried hard and went back to ask the cook staff anything she didn't know. The gluten-free appetizers were great and I LOVED the chips. My two main issues were 1) I would have liked some rice to go with my meal, but there was none listed on the gluten-free menu. A little surprised by that, especially since they had a cilantro-lime rice which is pretty easy to make from scratch and make gf; and 2) my order was not gf when it came out. I had ordered the seafood enchiladas from the gluten-free menu, so they should have come out in corn tortillas. However, upon checking, my enchiladas were made from flour tortillas. This was immediately rectified and apologized for - several times actually. The waitress felt pretty bad over a mistake that was easily caught, plus for my trouble they comped my entree. A few missteps, but I would definitely go back, especially for the chips and the Queso Fundito.
Management is very concerned about GF needs & the food being prepared properly. I had an issue once out of all the times we have been there, the Mgr took care of it right away, he went above & beyond my expectations. Note: the ONLY 2 meats that are allowed is the Chicken & Steak!!! Ground Beef is NOT GF! No matter what anyone says, it's NOT GF if it has Ground Beef, this is per the General Mgr, Tom...spoke w him personally as this was the issue I had w the wrong meat on my Naked Nachos. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! We eat there or I do a few times a month, I can have my Tex-Mex w/o having to deal w all the hassle! They will also substitute on the kids Quesadilla (sp?) if a GF "allergy". We order our son the Cheese Quesadilla w a Corn Tortilla vs the wheat & he hasn't had any issues either.
Gluten free menu with 12+ entrees including salads. I had enchiladas. I ordered three with my choice of meat. I chose pulled chicken, fajita chicken and steak. But they messed up by giving me chicken breast for all three. The manager gave me my entree for free. Much more than I expected. Either way the food was great and the chips and salsa were good. My wife loved her fajita salad. This will be one of our go to places when we move to Manhattan in the fall
HORRIBLE!!!! Since when did fajitas not come with rice and beans?! Horribly slow service. Not worth the money at all! My husband and I both feel sick to our stomachs (literally not figuratively) after eating there. I would have rather have given it zero stars.
They have a gluten free menu, good number of choices. Salsa and chips are gluten free. They said they have dedicated fryers. Server was new. The order was specifically put in to be gluten free as the server who brought it out identified it as a gluten free meal.
We have gone to Carlos O'Kelly's twice now since going GF. The first time was on New Years Eve and even though they were totally packed (a group of 30 put their order in at the same time we did) our meals were excellent. In fact it was so good we decided to go back just last week. However the second time we went the waitress didn't really seem to know much about their gluten free menu. I ordered a Monterrey Torta and when it came out I was SHOCKED! It was over loaded with this nasty cheese sauce. The quality control the second time we went was not good at all. When I came home I was noticing that I was not feeling good at all. My stomach was in so much pain and my daughter who really is the one who has been diagnosed with a sensitivity was sick for 2 days afterwards. She kept telling me her tummy hurt and was extremely fussy. (she's 2). I went online to check out the nutritional information from their website and upon finding nothing on their website I emailed them. While I will say I got a response within 24 hours I was shocked at what it said. "We are hoping to have a Gluten Free Menu release within the next 3 months and are currently working on making it available to our different locations. Also we do not have nutritional or allergen information available because our chef retired at the end of the year and he was the one who had the calorie count for everything." They went on to tell me while they look like a large company they are still a small company. I was rather shocked because they have advertised on this website to have had GIG training.

We stopped (while traveling) based on the previous positive reviews. We'll plan to stop here again. Also try other locations based on a good experience. Thanks, Carlos O'Kelly's for making life easier for us!
Waiter Andrew was very knowledgable about gluten intolerance. Menu has several items to pick from and not just on a typed sheet of paper. The food was tasty and the chips and salsa were gluten free which was great with my mango margarita. I did not get sick afterwards, so I would definitely recommend this restaurant, as I can tell within 30 minutes if I got any gluten.
