Besides the fact this location is not my favorite do to being slow and skimping you on everything. It is a go to for a gluten free bowl. Do not get the lettuce or cheese because there is cross contamination going on there because everyone puts there hands (with gloves on) into after they handle the flour tortillas. Everything else is handled with spoons.
Yum! Always a favorite!
This location is phenomenal!! I informed them that I had Celiac so I wanted the other tortillas. They took every precaution available: put foil down when pressing the tortillas, changed everyone's gloves, and even offered to change all of the spoons! I was extremely impressed! Very knowledgable! I'll be heading back soon! :)
I love Chipotle, and it kills me to say this is the second really bad experience I've had. The staff just didn't care about anything. They didn't care about the customers and were to busy doing just about nothing to help the people in line and there was trash all over the shared dining area and more importantly, the customer side of the Chipotle counter. I tried to tell them I had an allergy and was mostly ignored. I'm also sad to report that I got very, very sick again. I will not be eating here again. It's too bad because there aren't many options at BWI for me.
consistently good, fresh food.
Good tasting, simple and fresh. I thought the carnitas and the guacamole were very good. Great for low-gluten lifestyle eaters. In my opinion, NOT for high sensitive or celiac. As soon as I mentioned "no gluten" they washed hands and changed gloves and were very aware of the few things that have gluten. However, the utensils are all the same and the opening of the bag for corn tortillas brushed against the pile of flour tortillas as they were getting out the food.
Always accommodating. Never had an issue.
The low reviews make me sad. The staff has always been kind to me, they will change gloves, answer questions and laugh at your bad jokes! Chipotle is great because if you avoid tortillas and chips, you should be ok. It's not a guarantee but it's fast food so my expectations aren't high. I can say I have eaten at Chipotle a large number of times since my diagnosis and have only been ill once. Might have been unrelated! Burrito bowl, extra brown, no bean, steak and chicken, corn salsa, sour, cheese and lettuce. So good!
I am newly gluten free and have been nervous to eat out anywhere. I had a graft experience at Chipotle though. I asked the first guy if he could change his gloves. He asked me if I was gluten free and I told him yes. He changed out all the spoons and tongs (for what I said I would be getting) and they wiped the prep area down. They did this very fast too. The food was great and I didn't feel sick after either! 5 stars for Chipotle!
At Chipotle the only gluten ingredient is the flour tortilla. You can get corn tortillas or a salad bowl. You can ask the server to change their gloves and use new utensils, but the tortilla warmer could be an issue for some. When we were there it was very busy and the employees were disgruntled. The food was bland.
This chipotle refused to follow gluten free protocol of changing the gloves and following me down because they insisted that everything in the restaurant is now gluten free (including the flour tortillas)! Even the manager insisted that the flour tortillas were gluten free-then he went on checked online and said the flour tortillas are gluten free, but the avocados and jalepenos are not! He told us to check and didn't understand that starches are a different food group than vegetables and that flour can never be gluten free-of course we checked online and saw nothing that vegetables are gluten free and flour tortillas are not. DO NOT EAT HERE-you will get sick. We will be contacting the corporate offices about their lack of training!! Terrifying! And they were quite rude about it!
I think if you are very sensitive it might not be safe, but I have eaten here many times and am fine. Just be sure to NOT get LETTUS or CHEESE. They grab from these bins with their gloves for all customers so both are contaminated. This goes for any location not just this one. It took me a few mishaps before I had a "duh" moment one day watching the line workers dig in. I always ask them to change their gloves and they are cool about it. I say it may not be safe for a very sensitive person because the counter isn't always clean, and there would be a chance for contamination on the outside of the container.
This particular store employs or has employed persons with celiac disease or some degree of gluten sensitivity. They are exceptionally sensitive to the individual's needs. For me, they have always carefully washed hands, changed gloves & followed me through the food line. Fresh, uncontaminated pans of certain items are always used for me. Highly recommended! I'm extremely sensitive & never has any problems after eating here.
