I had dinner here and was pleasantly surprised by my meal. The manager came out and talked to me specifically about what was safe. He also said he would talk to the kitchen and let them know to be super careful. I got the chicken enchiladas with ranchero sauce. At this location the chips are fried separately so they were also celiac safe! The queso is not gf though, they use flour in a roux. Overall I really enjoyed it there, I would definitely go back!

Spoke to manager Ricky about my need for a truly gf meal. He specially prepared a grilled chicken salad and baked some gf tortilla chips for me. They might not be able to make these accommodations at peak times, but at 2PM I got a safe delicious meal.
Called ahead to learn about GF options; the person who answered the phone wasn't particularly knowledgeable about it but she was patient with my questions and willing to go find someone who knew the answers.
Got to the restaurant, and the server confirmed that the chips are GF and cooked in a dedicated fryer. She said the proteins are all GF. My daughter wanted the nachos; she was first told they are not safe because the chips used are different from the ones on the table and aren't fried in the dedicated fryer. But then the server came back and said they could make the nachos with the same chips that are served on the table -- just ask for the "trash can nachos."
Overall they could be a little more helpful to their GF diners. Wish they offered either a dedicated menu or even GF indicators on their regular menu. Plus, it should be easy to swap out a flour tortilla with corn if someone wants tacos.
I would say a majority of their menu is unsafe and they will tell you that they cook everything in the same area but will also try their best to not cross contaminate. I’d say.. not worth it

This Chuy's has consistently provided a safe place for my wife to dine. Just ask for the manager when you order and you will not have any worries.
Yes
I went to this particular Chuy's a few weeks ago with some co-workers. I'm a celiac and when I learned that we'd be going there for lunch, I, of course, called ahead to learn about my options. I spoke with a manager named Marco who told me that they could make several different meals gluten free. He was very knowledgeable and even threw out phrases like "cross-contamination." That got my attention. He told me to let my waiter know that I needed to talk to Marco and that he'd come out and chat with me. I did this when we arrived and moments later, Marco came out. He knelt beside me and told me my options, chatting with me for several minutes. In the end, I just went with the taco plate because it sounded like the simplest gluten free option. He assured me that he would make my meal personally in a separate section of the kitchen to attempt to avoid cross contamination. He said he's very interested in celiac disease and allergies and always does his best to accommodate customers. He serves several other celiacs and had impressive knowledge about it. He brought me my meal personally several minutes later, before my friends' arrived. They teased that I was a VIP. And the truly amazing thing is: I felt like one. It is beyond frustrating to eat out as a celiac and see people roll their eyes or get frustrated when I ask questions. My experience at Chuy's was one-of-a-kind. I will definitely be going back and experimenting with other locations. Oh, and the food was delicious. :)

Chips are dusted with flour. Queso has gluten. So things that seem safe are not. Though the waitstaff and management was very knowledgable about the gf options sometimes I want more than salad.
Fantastic experience at Chuy’s. The manager and majority of the staff were very knowledgeable on what items are gluten free items! Their chips are made in a dedicated fryer. And corn tortillas are gluten free. Staff was so kind to let me know all the gluten free sauces that were options. Their fajita meat is not gluten free. I had the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom enchiladas and they were delicious. No cross contamination and I feel great after my meal. I’m making Chuy’s my permanent Mexican food spot in OKC!

Even though they have a GF menu, they will not guarantee it will actually be GF. All their meat proteins have gluten - from the marinade. The chips are not GF either. Very disappointing.

The GM was extremely knowledgeable about the processes and cross contamination! Chips at this location are celiac safe, boom boom sauce, and jalapeno ranch as well!

A classic Tex Mex chain so you can expect the quality to be subpar. The manager was very accommodating and confirmed they had a dedicated fryer for only corn. However, they did have to check on a lot with the previous manager to ensure GF items. I got the chicken flautas with roasted chicken. While my typical reaction of ataxia did not kick in, I did leave feeling somewhat symptomatic: light headed, hot/cold flashes, weak on my feet etc. I think I may have been exposed in some capacity.
Be aware: marinated meat is cooked in beer, queso has gluten, Mexican rice is fried in gluten fryer, and chips are cross contaminated.

If you have celiac DONT DO IT! Let me be a cautionary tale to those with any kind of gluten sensitivity. I have celiac and am currently in the worst pain of my life from eating here.
