I absolutely loved my breakfast experience here! They completely understand gluten free and were careful and accommodating. I had two eggs and home fries (a rare find and so delicious) and my daughter (also celiac) had a southwestern omelette which was fantastic. They even have a separate toaster. I highly recommend!

Lots of options to eat GF and a real willingness to accommodate. The food was delicious and the service great. Cool little spot just down the block from the baseball hall of fame.

Excellent selection of GF options, including hard ciders. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Clean dining area. Not loud. Small bar within restaurant for casual dining. Great fish items. My local favorite.

Great sandwich. Their Mexican plate accoutrements are GF but chips and tacos are not. Bummer. I had the tuna salad with Cole slaw and it was great. My sister had the turkey club but it came with no bacon. Second bummer! Lol. Great experience, food is a tiny pricey, but knowledgeable staff. We will come again.

Ate here twice. First time I had some bloating issue, but thought that was because I tested my luck with fries. Second time I ordered only what was marked gluten free and had a reaction. I won’t be going back.

I am shocked at the bad reviews. Lovely restaurant, great service, clearly marked gf options and yummy food.

They have gluten free bread and a separate toaster. But had one meal where there was a piece of regular pasta mixed in with my GF cole slaw. Thankfully I didn’t eat it. Staff said a quick oops and took my Meal off the check. Never went back after that. Too much of a worry for us.

Before celiac diagnosis this was my favorite place in Cooperstown. I was in Cooperstown 7/3/19 and stopped in. After talking to them, I decided not to eat there for the following reasons:
Although they have GF bread and a dedicated toaster they also have:
-shared prep space
-shared utensils
-shared cutting board
-shared grill
Needless to say I was disappointed.
Yes
My daughter had lunch without being glutened, but I was not impressed with the experience. The menu has a lot of gluten free choices including fries. Daughter wanted burger and fries. My wife thought to ask about fries and was told they are fried with other breaded items, so we got fruit instead. When the burger came out, the bread was toasted. We assumed they used the same toaster, so I ate her burger and she ate my enchiladas. Be careful.

Very knowledgeable waitress and food was delicious. Lots of options too!

Gluten free bread for any sandwich on the menu. Great staff and very helpful.
very knowledgeable. knew the difference between intolerance and celiac and addressed while ordering. friendly as well.
Extremely pleased with the waitresses concern with cross contact. She actually prepared my order herself - got cheeseburger on udi's bread broiled w fresh fruit. Only rating a 4 because options were limited but very very happy.
The waitress was super knowledgeable about celiac, even telling us that her husband has celiac so the restaurant has great gluten free options!

I read other reviews and was skeptical, but decided to ask some questions of the staff as they indicated they had gluten free items. They were very accommodating. Once I expressed my cross-contamination concerns, they offered to make my sons grilled cheese in a separate pan with all separate utensils, understanding what I meant completely. The server, Michaela, was fantastic! Such a great place to have lunch so close to the Baseball Hall of Fame!
Yes
Seemed knowledgeable and had gf options listed. Daughter who had celiac wasn't feeling great afterwards in a way consistent with cross contamination. Anecdotally in asking around in town for celiac friendly places some people have voiced concern over cross contamination at this restaurant. Otherwise service and food good.

Great service and the server was very helpful when we told her my daughter has Celiac. She identified a couple of items on the menu that were marked as Gluten free but we're not Celiac friendly...like the fries because they shared the same oil as other fried foods. She also identified that the beef had spices that were not gluten free. It was helpful but I would not have gone there if I knew this ahead of time.

i went to this restaurant and I had great customer service! I am on a gluten free diet and lactose free diet! The waitress there" named Karen has the same thing I have! She was very helpful to me and made sure my food was done right! Also a waiter named Kevin was really helpful! I recommended this restaurant to anybody who has Celiac!

Had a great breakfast experience this morning. All GF items are clearly identified on the menu. They also have GF bread for toast. Service was really friendly. My son who has CD asked to return for lunch. We decided to try another option for a variety, but I would definitely go back to Doubleday!
Yes
Lots of good gf options including quesadillas
What a pleasant surprise! Our kind and friendly waitress, Sandy, knew the difference between having Celiac and avoiding gluten. She knew the fries and GF buns were unsafe for me because of cross contamination. I ordered a cheeseburger, without the bun, and mashed potatoes. The burger had that nice flame grilled smell and taste and the mashed potatoes were quite good. The kitchen even used a brand new spatula for my burger. Doubleday Cafe is a safe and yummy choice when you're in Cooperstown. Be sure to ask questions because, though many of the items on the menu are marked gluten free, they are not Celiac safe due to cross contamination.
Yes
Good burgers. Relatively fast service but not rushed. Perfect to take a break from the Hall of Fame and go back.

I ate lunch probably the busiest day of the year (hall of fame day), so it was probably not a typical experience. I had no contamination from my meal (enchiladas), but they were unable to make a gluten free sandwich for me as they did not have separate condiments or a toaster. They were also not familiar with steps to take to prevent cross contamination. I was grateful for a meal, but it took a long conversation with the kitchen manager to make it happen.
Awesome restaurant! Ate here twice while in town for a week of baseball at Dreams park. Menu has lots of choices.
Very friendly and very knowledgable about celiac disease and gluten free items :-)
Gluten free bread/buns - Udi's. The staff is very knowledgable and accommodating.
