The staff was knowledgeable, and the food was great! I love that even the younger staff (no offense) knew exactly what I meant by celiac disease, and knew exactly what had gluten without having to consult a list or ask someone else. My daughter had a kids meal with a cheese quesadilla made w/ corn tortillas, and she was very happy. The queso is amazing. I live in CA, but would come back here again when in the area!

I was referred here by a fellow celiac and was so glad to find it. I was told the owner is Celiac as well! I went with my family and was able to order the carne asada street tacos with charro beans and chips and salsa. It was wonderful! I don’t eat out often unless I’m referred by a celiac as I am too scared of cross contamination. The ladies at the register were reassuring and able to tell me right away what not to order, which were the burritos made with flour. But there were tons of options to choose from as I’m also dairy free. Highly recommend!

Great options for kids! (And kids eat free on Tuesdays!) My family eats here regularly. Owner is Celiac (same owner as Oliva across the street). Fun, casual restaurant. The Casa Salad and Tortilla Soup are my favorites. Delicious.

So I have eaten here for years but I had a pretty disappointing experience tonight. I recently got a Nima gluten sensor and decided to try it out. I tested the Elote Special (negative for gluten) and the Mahi Mahi tacos, they tested positive for gluten - twice. I’d never had the Mahi Mahi tacos before. I told management while I was there and they replaced my meal, thinking the tortillas were not the gf option. Our waiter was very apologetic. I took the replacement home and tested the Mahi again and it came back positive, again. I also at the chips and salsa and I definitely didn’t feel good once I got home.
I did call them to let them know but they weren’t very apologetic. They simply said they keep things separate, and that the Mahi Mahi comes packaged so it isn’t even cut there. They also said none of their other customers that eat gluten free have had a reaction but everyone has various levels of sensitivity. I’m very reactive. I told them they need to check with their suppliers if that’s the case.
I’m really upset because this is supposed to be a safe place for people with gluten sensitivities to eat but I didn’t even feel like they cared.

Eat here often (almost every Sunday). I go back and forth from the Casa Salad and the Cheese Enchiladas. In the past 4 years I’ve only had a few reactions afterward and that could have very well been my own doing or cross contamination from my kids.

I reacted here. Lethargic like I’ve been glutened, headache and barely made it to the bathroom. It’s sad because the Italian restaurant Olivia’s (same owners I hear ) I didn’t react at all ?

I was looking forward to this since they bill themselves as entirely GF except for flour tortillas. Unfortunately they didn’t state that the quesadillas use flour tortillas (I know they usually are but thought they might use corn). The online ordering process let us add a GF note for the order but I guess they didn’t notice that. I’m sure they would have fixed the problem but we did curbside pickup and I didn’t notice until after we drove home. Just be careful and if you order online be sure your GF note is more specific.

I visited this place while in town on a business trip. Food was great and they are knowledgeable regarding gluten. Highly recommend!

Only thing not-GF are flour tortillas.
Those must be handled in a separate area.
Did take-out due to COVID. Server on phone was great and understood Celiac. Reassured us of the kitchen.
Food was great.
Was surprised the restaurant was a bit of a fast food establishment, but food was great, no complaints.

Owner has Celiac and has completely separate gluten free kitchen. Safe place to eat with good food.

Great for a cheaper fast food type Mexican place. Owned by a celiac!
Yes
Everything on the menu is gluten free except for the flour tortillas. The owner is celiac so staff is all aware of CC and takes precautions not to contaminate with the flour tortillas!

Terrible! I can’t believe there are so many good reviews. Nothing had any flavor. The elote was cold, the tacos were on Mission tortillas and seasoned with what tasted like McCormick taco seasoning. The taquitos were straight from frozen and reheated. Don’t even think about trying the vodka mule...I’m not even sure what that was.
Everything on the menu was GF except the burrito! Staff was knowledgeable and helpful. The restaurant appeared very clean and extremely organized which is always comforting. The GF key lime pie was wonderful! No celiac reaction - highly recommend!

Seriously my favorite restaurant! Pretty much every thing is naturally gluten free, so when you tell them they just take extra care to make sure your meal is safe. Eat here at least once a week and never had any issues. Great chips and queso too!

The owner/chef is celiac so no problem telling the staff you are gluten free, The choices are numerous and delicious

One of our favorite places to eat. Staff knowledgeable and my daughter has never had a reaction.

We had the most amazing experience at this restaurant! Everything except for two items was gluten free, so we were overwhelmed with choices! The food was beyond amazing, the staff was incredibly accommodating, and the owner was just a phenomenal person. He was beyond kind and accomidating. His wife is gluten free, so he was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful on what to eat that you normally wouldn't be able to order elsewhere. Definitely try this place out, you will not be disappointed!
We have been looking for a safe GF Tex-Mex option in DFW and this fit the bill. Lots of GF options - pretty much anything on the menu except flour tortillas (of course) and desserts. Dedicated GF fryer so chips, taquitos, and even chicken wings were available so our family went a little crazy. Not a fancy place by any means, but the counter servers were knowledgeable and able to answer our questions, and the food was great.

We love eating here. Lots of great options. Really fresh food. Never had any issues eating here.

They are super knowledgeable, and do a great job of keeping the food safe. Most items are naturally GF. The co-owner (wife) has Celiac, so takes great care in the food. They also own Oliva Italian across the street, which is equally safe.

My family LOVES Elote! Unless it is a plate served on a flour tortilla, everything they serve is gluten free. I'm not sure what the reviewer was ripping them about, I have ordered several different dishes and have loved every one. They're chicken is actual chicken, everything tastes very fresh, and our family of five can do lunch or dinner for $40 or less, including ordering queso, (which I have enjoyed every time). A sure and safe gluten free environment for the whole family.
good but there other restaurant is better if you can only have one i would choose oliva

I mean, it's safe. But so bland, they charge for chips and salsa, the salsa has no spiciness and is made with canned tomatoes. Enchiladas weren't bad, but they were lacking in flavor. Queso was gross.
