The location on 29th is no longer there
We just had ours in a box with a fork and knife with fries, which was all very tasty! A little pricey for the amount of food in my opinion
I like having the option of having a wrap or a lettuce bowl. The service is always great.
These guys worked hard to make sure there was no gluten on my burger and even offered to wrap it in lettuce for me. ;-)
They did a great job with us! We have celiac and this place knew what they were doing. Great food... We will definitely go back!!!!
They claimed they would make my wife's burger gluten free. This means holding on to the tomatoes, as there is no lettuce wrap option. She is now really sick, from gluten. Thanks, Five Guys. Evidently you think gluten free is a joke.
They are so nice here. They cook burgers on a separate grill from buns- all the time. Not like others that "clean it" after buns sit in it. The fryer ONLY handles fries. You can get lettuce wrap or in a bowl. They changed gloves and that person was the only person who handled our food. Bring your own bun if you want!
ordered a cheeseburger without a bun. had the option of having it wrapped in a lettuce leaf. fries were great, burger was great!
I wish I could give a 0 star on this location. I watched the guy put buns on the griddle, not change gloves, and then add more frozen patties to the other griddle. When I brought this to the manager's attention, he said they only change gloves when asked and gave attitude. This obviously is not celiac safe, as the chain is so proud to be. I called corporate and they verified that gloves are to be changed after every touch of bread or meat and the district manager will be made aware.
Brought my own bun for the burger. Lots of options for toppings. GF fries are awesome -- that's all they use in their fryer (they use peanut oil). Drink machines let you make your own flavor combinations. No free peanuts at this location though. Loved it!
spoke with the manager and explained I have celiac. the fries are gf and no cross contamination in fryer. he said counters and gloves are clean for no cc. burger option is lettuce or bowl instead of bun. so far I am very happy. extremely happy girl!! no upset stomach!! best place ever!!
They say they have gluten free buns but there aren't ever any in the store.
Five Guys is my go to fast food place for gluten free. They are very good about changing gloves before touching my food. Food is awesome. I get a burger in a lettuce wrap or hotdog in a bowl and fries. Whole family loves them and they are super nice to chat with as they make your food.
Such a delicious place and gluten free fries make me solo happy!!!
I had read that all Five Guys locations are Celiac friendly, in that "everything is gluten free except the buns," and this one is not an exception. when you order a bunless burger or hotdog, they ask if it's for an allergy. they'll change gloves and separate your order from anything that could cross contaminate - like if your spouse has a burger with a bun, they'll put it in a separate bag. fries are cooked in peanut oil and are the only thing cooked in that fryer. good fast food for Celiacs.
I got a burger bowl and fries, requested that they changed gloves when handling my food (but didn't watch to see if they really did) and I didn't get sick from my meal. I'm sensitive enough to not be able to pick a few stray croutons off my salad, so they did something right. The fries are cooked in peanut oil and they don't have anything else fried on menu; I've read they have a dedicated burger grill. I enjoyed the food prior to being GF, and I think I'll be able to enjoy it now.
I told them I was GF and needed it with no bun. They changed gloves and it was delicious. Their fries are the only thing in the fryer so no chance for cross contamination. I just love this burger place and will eat at them while traveling.
I never have a reaction here. They do a wonderful job.
I'm visiting from out of town and ordered lile I do at home. When I picked up my food I was a bit upset, my fries were in the same bag as my Mom's bunned burger. I didn't complain, just kind of did an 'oh' & frowned. The guy didn't say anything though. A few minutes later the manager (?) Forrest M. (according to the receipt) brought out more fries for me "because they didn't exactly follow the allergy." I feel like that was exceptionally good customer service on their end!
Five Guys, Five Stars! Best burger and fries I've had in 20 years! They have two great GF options for your burger to order...in a lettuce wrap or in a "bowl" where your burger is served over your fixin's from lettuce and tomato to grilled onions and mushrooms! The staff at the Chester Five Guys were super friendly and patient with a newbie like me and the place was very clean. The only downside was I ate waaaaay too many fries!
I am always cautious, so I stood there and watched them prepare food while I waited. The spatula never touched the bun, so I know it wasn't just something they do when asked. They always make sure to package my food separately from my husband's food, just to be sure.
Finally! This is a place where I can have a burger and fries without worry. The employees are very careful. They clean the workspace before preparing our food and change their gloves several times throughout the process. They don't serve chicken so there's nothing to contaminate the fries. They don't have gf buns, but the lettuce wrap is great.
They were very accommodating. They only put fries in the fryer so you know they're safe. They don't have rolls but will wrap your burger in lettuce. We brought our own rolls and they even asked if we would like them to put the burgers on the rolls for us. The person preparing the food stopped to tell us that they couldn't toast the roll on the griddle so they are aware of cross contamination.
I have celiac and have eaten there several times and have always been fine (I.e. No reaction!) They will put your burgers in a lettuce wrap or in its own in a little tin container. They change their gloves frequently and also told the cooks that there was an "allergy". They only cook fries in the fryerlator so those are gf too.
Had read several good reviews about Five Guys so we decided to give them a try. It was obvious that the employees at this location have not been trained. None of the 3 guys at the front and on grill knew anything about gluten. We finally asked for a manager, then felt comfortable ordering. Wasn't happy to be charged full price for a plain (no condiments) bunless patty. Not likely to return.
I have to give 5 stars because they are so tasty. lol! Everyone knows what I am talking about! The french fries are in a dedicated fryer. The only thing I wonder is why they fry them in peanut oil when there are so many people with peanut allergies? Either way, it is very good! They will ask you right off "Do you have an allergy?" So they will know how to handle your food. Then they will yell back "allergy!" and everyone changes their gloves! :D That is what I am talking about! They GET IT!
