Grassroots Kitchen has become a favorite stop when we’re in the Phoenix area. Sam was our waiter & he was terrific.
As a gluten free diner I had a bounty of wonderful choices. When I saw “gluten free buns” on the menu, I asked to have one before dinner with my drink. The kitchen grilled it and it came out fast. Instead of suffering while watching my husband devour the basket of bread, I was able to satisfy my hunger with a savory bun. Bravo Grassroots!
I’m able to drink Scotch without problems (maybe because it’s distilled) and Sam made a recommendation that was good. The pour was extremely generous.
The food was fabulous, we split a salad (very fresh), then I had the spit roasted chicken & my husband had the redfish which were both well prepared & delicious.
The only negative were the misters that blew cool water on us as we sat outside. This is common everywhere in Scottsdale, even when the temps are comfortable out.
All in all a pleasant & delicious dining experience. We’ll be back!
I was a little disappointed after reading the positive reviews; I asked if the salad was gluten free and the waiter sort of laughed and said "probably not". I then inquired further and he ultimately said "I honestly have no idea. I'll write gluten allergy and the kitchen will figure it out". I took my chances and ultimately am feeling OK so the kitchen has it together but the interaction didn't exactly foster any feelings of confidence.
so easy to work with, friendly, yummy. They don't have Gf menu but felt really safe.
Amazing Brussels sprouts glazed with balsamic. Touches of bacon and roasted to a crispy perfection.
