Hostess really did not know about gluten but tried to fake it. We asked if server would know and she said they would. There was no gf menu and no items marked as gf on the menu. Server was aware of gluten and offered items that could be made gf. There are not a lot of options for gf so you are reliant on your knowledge and talking with the server.

Staff was nice and friendly and we did have a conversation with the manager about the gf items. At least the mgr is aware of gf items and how it should be served and prepared. To bad they won't make agf menu.

I had the salmon and rice and broccoli.

Excellent and caring staff that went above and beyond to make sure my food was prepared correctly. The manager actually confirm after the server had already confirmed that everything was prepared correctly and the kitchen staff was aware. They cleaned the grill and double checked my allergies. My food was so good I got a Cobb Salad with Chicken and homemade dressing. Amazing and will go back again! Highly recommend and I hope you have a great experience like I did!

Not many gf items available. Menu not marked. Bartender had no idea and she called a waitress to tell me what could be gluten free. They fry all in one. I ordered scallops with mashed potatoes. It was good. All dishes overpriced. The restaurant has an outdoor sitting. Nice flowers and such.

I ordered the fresh catch which was mahi mahi with mashed potatoes and asparagus, all cooked and seasoned very well. The service was excellent and they brought out a gf menu for me. The bananas foster was also gf and enough to share with at least 4 people, it was very good!

First night in Carolina Beach we went to Havana’s after a recommendation from a friend. Our server was friendly and helpful and asked the chef about GF options. She also brought a list of items that could be ordered GF. I ordered the salad nicoise and also the ceviche. Neither had any flavor. The salad was ice cold and had clearly been made in advance and sitting in the refrigerator. The atmosphere outside was nice but overall experience was disappointing. There are many other restaurants in the area I’d recommend before this one.

Only option gf was blacken salmon which was tasteless and overdone. Waitress was definitely not accommodating to gf needs

Waitress and chef were both very helpful with determining what was and wasn't gluten free. However, what I ended up with was a plain piece of fish (the seasoning and sauce turned out to be gluten and were served on the side for my husband) and unseasoned steamed asparagus. Mashed potatoes and rice were both gluten. Very disappointing for the price. Apparently they used to have a separate gluten free menu, but recently got rid of it.

Said gf menu was out of date. Not very knowledgeable but I know our server was new. Sent my salad with croutons. I had to send back.... Sad that it wasn't as good of an experience as I expected.

Great service and great food! They had a separate gluten free menu with modifications from the main menu. Had salmon, mashed potatoes and vegetables.

Not a good experience. Asked for the breakfast quesadilla without the flour tortilla and no melon-type fruit. Told server about celiac/gluten issues. I was served a plate with watermelon and coffee cake on it. Sent back to remake. I was then served the egg mixture and salsa on a long appetizer plate. Cheese was missing but no one came to check. So ate this bland meal on an awkward plate. Good news - they didn't charge me. 😊 Chef said "sorry, she knew better and was just not paying attention". Not what we want to hear. 😥

I've eaten here numerous times and have never gotten sick. (Very sensitive celiac). Just pay attention to what the gluten free menu says compared to what you get. I had a mix up, but I recognized it right away. Staff has always been overly accommodating. Banana Foster is amazing! Carolina Beach location is open, maybe previous reviewer meant the Wrightsville Beach location?

I really enjoyed my dinner on the deck here. The service was great. The server was somewhat knowledgable about celiac diets but I had no issues and the meal was a hit. I will definitely go back.
