Fantastic food and workers. I asked Qs about gluten and cross contamination, and they were knowledgeable. Lots of options— they ended up giving me free samples of everything GF as I sat waiting for my group. I don’t live nearby but may make the drive just for the gumbo!

I have been coming to this Jay Gumbo's for years. I can't say enough positive about this place. The employees are trained in allergies and cross contamination.
But the real reason to come here, is for the sense of community. It's surprising to see in a chain restaurant like this, but this one really does have its own personality. The owner is deeply involved in local events and host all kinds of neat things especially with a focus on children. I once attended a free rock painting class here.

Before finding out I had celiac disease, my family and I used to eat here monthly. The owners are some the friendliest/nicest people I have ever met. When we went there the other day and I told them I was celiac they made special precautions for my food and half way through eating they came to check on me and make sure I wasn’t having a reaction (I’m super sensitive to gluten). I had zero reaction and loved the extra care they took to make sure I did not have a reaction.
