Stayed in Jemez for a week and ate here A LOT since there's not many options around. Really loved this spot, surprisingly they had a lot of gluten free options, different burgers and soups, they have gluten free buns which is awesome. They even have the beyond burger which is gluten free and vegan and tastes incredible! They also have live music multiple nights a week and that's awesome too, the whole vibe of this place is great. I was truly surprised to see that a place like this existed here, would go here all the time if I lived here. Not sure about how celiac friendly they are, I have celiac and never got sick, but I also requested they don't toast the buns and stuff like that. I would definitely stop in here if you're in Jemez! Lovely people, too.
I don't know if the Jemez Stage Stop has changed ownership since the previous review, but there was nothing gluten free when I went in June, 2014. The staff is not at all trained in gluten. They said that the owner might know more, but he was not there at the time.
The entire menu is hamburgers and sandwiches. They do not offer gluten free bread/bun options. According to the cook, they use bread crumbs in the hamburger patties, so a naked burger was also not an option. They do offer a salad, but they could not verify that the dressings were gluten free. Though there is a small sign on the window that says all of the chile is gluten free, the cook could not verify if that was still true.
The end result is that my family all enjoyed their meals (they were quite happy with their sandwiches), and I didn't eat. They get the 2nd star because they were honest about the situation and didn't try to fake it and serve me something that would make me sick.

Nice selection of gluten free and vegan options.
