In October 2005, Jim launched Jimmy's as homage to fine dining in the New Orleans tradition. Many of the dishes offered are inspired by dining experiences in New Orleans and the surrounding area while he was a graduate student at LSU and subsequent visits. At Jimmy's, we take little things seriously. Our Po-boy buns come from Gambino's Bakery in New Orleans. So does the bread for our bread pudding. Our coffee is rich French roast that we purchase especially for us. The quality of tea we use to make iced tea is rare, which makes our offering quite unique.

This place was awesome!! I know the reviewers below said there wasn't a gf menu but there was when I went today, so maybe it is a new addition. They do request you let them know you have celiac so they can be extra careful. I'm always so sensitive and I made it through lunch and dessert with no reaction! Yay!! I had the shrimp and grits and then some sort of blackberry and ice cream dessert. Both were amazing!!

Jimmy's does not have a gluten free menu, but the staff seemed knowledgable. The chef will modify most dishes on the menu to make them GF, if they aren't already. I ordered a filet of beef and it came with a stuffed potato (looked like one of those frozen potato boats from the 70's) and tasty sautéed summer squash. ($30) The steak was tender and perfectly cooked. My companions had rice based dishes and the rice appeared mushy (although they liked them). Overall, the food was good. The atmosphere was pleasant, but not fancy. The wine list was good.

While there is no gf menu, the chef will gladly work w you to meet your needs. They understand the need to prevent cross contamination. If possible tell them you are coming and tell them your dietary requirements. The creole style cuisine is fantastic. Highly recommend.
