I have never had a bad experience here. The food and the service is always wonderful. Everytime I have gone to this location the staff has been extra careful to make sure that my food is all safe for me to eat. It is also the only place I have ever been able to request gluten free bread in place of the regular complimentary bread and almost all the menu items can be made to be gluten free. I wpuld reccomened this resteraunt to anyone who has celiac and is looking for a good place to eat!
Love this Joe's location as well! Like all locations, Joe's offers GF/Dairy-Free bread, and gluten free pasta making almost all menu items interchangeable to gluten free entrees! Manager was extremely nice and waiter was very knowledgable, never a stomach ache after eating at Joe's!
I have to change my 5 star review to a 3 star-I am very disappointed that Joe's got rid of pizza from their menu. (all pizza nut just GF) their GF pizza was my favorite, I was so upset when I called to order & they told me they no longer have pizza on their menu...I have ordered their gf blackened chicken pasta & it is pretty good. the staff is very knowledgeable about GF & cross contamination - so that is good!

Very good pasta. Very good service. I asked what could be made gluten free. They are very happy to tell you all of your options. If you are planning to have a burger or sandwich, then you may want to forgo the strawberry shortcake for dessert. But the shortcake is delicious as well as the burger. Together they are just a bit too much. I do plan to come back and try some other things.
Our server claimed their restaurant was #1 in Allergy-friendly practices in the city. The restaurant itself was CRAZY crowded, but we were assured they're well-versed in GF cooking. Fries are prepped in a dedicated fryer, which was great. I got a rack of ribs and our daughter got chicken/broccoli and penne in a garlic cream sauce. Our meals were excellent. Bread came out ahead of our meal...it was a grill-top toasted hamburger bun, but it was fresh and warm, so no complaints there! To bolster my confidence in the meal being safe, it was a pleasant surprise to have had our meals delivered by the chef personally. Really great experience!!
they were so nice and accommodating! first, they vaguely told me that almost the whole menu could be made gluten free. I asked if that included the fried chicken. I wasn't expecting them to have gluten free flour and sure enough they did not. but the waiter was so nice and willing to ask the kitchen about it to make sure. I went with a Burger with sweet potato fries. yum! the sweet potato fries were amazing! the Burger was very good too and the bun was nice and not crumbly.
I had one rough incident a few years ago where the waitress didn't communicate the allergy to the chef, and served me an appetizer that wasn't gluten free. My entire family ate free that night because of how sick I was going to get from their mistake. I have never had a single problem since then, and it's my go-to restaurant. They ALWAYS send the manager out with my food to confirm that it's gluten free. I'm a big fan of their fish sandwich and their portobello sandwich. They're able to make their fries gluten free, which is always a plus. Highly recommend for a good gluten free restaurant with plenty of options!
I came here with my family (party of 11) for my college graduation dinner. Even with a large group, our waiter was calm and collected while accommodating my GF diet and honey allergy. He brought out separate chips and guac for my starter. He checked and told me that the GF rolls had honey in them (nice catch!) but I opted for a burger and fries anyway, despite having many other options. The sweet potato fries were delicious! GF dessert options were limited, but I did enjoy their ice cream, and I felt OK afterwards!
Amazing options! Our waiter informed me that 75 % of the menu can be made gluten free. They have a separate fryer and the manager made sure everything was made properly and then hand delivered my plate to me. I don't typically love chain restaurants, but I will definitely be back.
I would have given this place a 5-star rating and a glowing review, but the last time I went it was clear they were not going to bend over backwards for celiacs. I will say the food is tasty and they are safe, but they no longer have proper dinner rolls (they will bring a toasted hamburger bun) and the gluten free selection dropped quite a bit.
I have never written before but felt this was important because when I emailed the restaurant I got no response. I asked hostess for GF menu and was told there was a separate section in the menu. When I looked though the menu, there was no such section. I asked the waitress and she flipped through the menu, confused, and said there used to be..she then proceeded to tell me about GF bread and pasta and to ask about other items. I ordered the ribs and sweet potato fries after I was assured the sauce was GF and that they use separate oil for allergy requests. The food was good, but was surprised not to be visited by a manager as is typical at most restaurants. Turns out, I had a very definite reaction to the food. I know eating out is at my own risk and I do not hold the restaurant responsible. However, the staff (hosting, server, chef) need to be better educated about this issue. I wrongly assumed they would want to know that this happened. .but again..no response. I will not eat here again.
Manager and server were very knowledgeable and super accommodating for our gluten and dairy free needs. The French dip was very good and a nice change from the burger I usually end up with when I go out because that is the only option. My daughter was thrilled to get gf pasta with marinara. Highly recommend this place.
Although they don't have a gluten-free menu, the staff is very knowledgeable. I told my server that I was gluten-free and he pointed out all of the gluten-free appetizers and entrées right away. They have an amazing chicken broccoli ziti. Awesome place
Despite not having a separate GF menu, they have a large GF selection on adult and kids menus. They are totally accommodation as well....the manager came right over after we let the waiter know our daughter has Celiac and he affirmed their desire to make it a great dining experience for her. She got a separate GF bread basket when ours came, and we had ordered a spinach dip...they brought her a separate basket of GF chips which they explained had just been fried in new clean oil. One of the most Celiac/GF experiences we have had, and the food is fantastic!
This PAINS me to write a bad review- Joes has been my favorite restaurant for years. But as a recently diagnosed celiac, this was my first trip there eating GF. Long post- but hopefully you read it and it will help prevent this happening to you. I asked the hostess for a GF menu, she said they don't have a separate menu but they have GF pasta and bread so pretty much the whole menu can be made GF and that the server could help with more info. So I was pretty excited. Asked the server when he came over and his response (in an annoyed tone) was for me to tell him what I wanted and he would tell me if it was GF. So I asked for the Honey Mustard Chicken Salad (my favorite dish there). He said yes, that can be made GF. Score. I had heard from other reviews here that when you say you need GF, they usually bring out a GF roll with the bread- he did not offer. I chose to ignore it. Food finally comes out-brought out by the chef no less so I felt comfortable that they took the time to take care of my food- but then I noticed he was carrying Everyone at our tables. Then I quickly noticed that my salad which normally comes with pasta, was pasta free. Confused, since he said that salad specifically could be made GF, and the hostess said they had GF pasta. So I asked, and he said no, they only have GF penne, not angel hair.... So, essentially making this salad GF was removing all of the elements from the salad. And my $15 salad was nothing more than a garden salad with grilled chicken. So, fine. Miscommunication. Wait staff should be more clear in my opinion...but wouldn't let that ruin my meal. Continue to eat my salad, get half way thru, and I found a noodle in my salad. A noodle. In my GF salad. I called the manager over- she was very nice and apologetic, asked if I wanted anything else blah blah. Said they usually take allergies very seriously. Not mad at her, she did her job to clean up their mess. I wasn't rude but left very upset. The fact that the waiter then said "sorry things didn't go as planned" to me several times had me steaming. Now looking back I have several issues: 1) how does 1 little noodle get mixed in the salad? Did they add the pasta, realized it shouldn't have it and then took it off, minus one noodle? So my salad was completely exposed? Did the noodle fall in? I don't understand. 2) also realized when taking my order, the waiter offered me grilled or crispy chicken... How were they planning on making crispy GF chicken? 3) because of this wondering if he even put my "allergy" on the ticket or if he just said "no noodles". Clearly this waiter wasn't properly trained... And that's scary. I think they try hard to be gluten and celiac friendly- and hopefully this was a one time instance... But I'm so sad this happened.
Love that I can have a Gfree roll like everyone else at the table with my own butter that is soft and creamy. (it is the hamburger roll but still good) Great selection of GFree items including pasta. Blackened chicken pasta is one of my favorites. I got the Cobb Salad on father's day and was a little disappointed. It was very tiny and not much flavor. I have had the wild green salad which comes with dark meat chicken and loved it.
Excellent care & customer service with my needs. The sweet potato fries are the best I've ever had. They have a dedicated GF fryer. I also had a great burger with swiss cheese and mushrooms. They offer GF buns as well. They have a manager or chef bring the food out and say that it is GF. Love that confirmation! Highly recommend. Busy location. Plan accordingly.
Went on a busy Saturday evening with a small group for a friend's birthday. I asked the waitress which items could be made gluten free and let her know that I had celiac and was a vegetarian. She started rattling off items at high speed and I finally asked her if I could just have Mac and cheese using the gluten free pasta. She seemed very confused and asked if I wanted Mac and cheese put ON the pasta... I re-explained and eventually she said yes. She brought bread for the table but no gluten free rolls. My order came out with everyone else's, with another plate on top of mine. There was a small piece of lobster in my dish, but since I couldn't find the waitress, I took it out and ate my meal. I felt sick within a half hour. They may be more diligent about gluten-free food prep during the week, but I'd definitely advise against going here during peak hours; they're clearly too busy to care.
