I’ll give you what you all want to know first: was not glutened, celiac safe prep space, they use Canyon Bakehouse grain bread as a substitute for baguette. Sandwiches can be made gf— pastries, crepes, and quiches cannot. Ok, now onto a longer review for those that like that:

La Lune Sucree is located on a pedestrian only path just off of SJSU. It's a lovely clean area with other shops (gong cha, philz, etc). The music plays softly: muzak and jazz inside. There are several two-seater tables outdoors as well as indoors where there are two bar seats, two single tables, two doubles, and one table for four.

I ordered the caprese sandwich on gf bread and the strawberry cream matcha latte with oatmilk. With $2 tip the whole order was $24 total. While the barista was putting in my order she let me know she was putting a note to prep my gf sandwich on a separate surface. Yay!!!!! Love that.

On to te taste. The latte was freaking amazing, I guzzled it. The matcha flavor was there, it was creamy, there was really strawberry in it. The sandwich was adequate-- it was just balsamic salad dressing with mozz, basil, and tomato on grain bread. I assumed the balsamic would be more of a reduction so that it's not just liquid dressing but oh well. They gave me two as a replacement for one big baguette. The bread was half toasted, half gluey. I recognize Canyon Bakehouse gluten free bread anywhere, so here's a tip for the restaurant owner: you need to toast it all the way through, otherwise it will be cold and gluey. In general it was exactly as advertised so I can't complain, but just didn't blow me away. It was food.

Would come again. Very nice atmosphere and service!!

Read good reviews on Yelp, so I was excited to try- bread is so dry that it was hard to eat the sandwich. Sandwiches served cold that you'd expect warm. Food was very expensive and just okay. They were out of the gluten free cake, so I didn't get to try that. They are changing owners, so maybe this is just a transition?

A little pricey. no GF soups and the drinks (lemonades) listed on the online menu weren't there. only coffee or tea drinks. Very friendly staff. Unfortunately she was the only one working. She had to wait on everyone and make all the sandwiches. It was busy plus we are a family of 7. I got a little sick, but I was the only one ordering GF. I'd try it again, but hopefully not at such a busy time and hopefully they'll have more staff then.

Cute pastry shop with gluten free options. Sandwiches and benedicts on GF, DF baguettes, GF quiche, soups and salads. GF desserts including chocolate hazelnut cake and macaroons. Specialty GF cakes available with advance notice: strawberry vanilla bean cake, neopolitan gelato cake, cheesecakes, etc. Shared space, but staff takes care to prevent cross contamination.
