Certified celiac preparation and management sticker right on the door! Small family run restaurant. Many gluten free options, including warm focaccia bread! My celiac child and the rest of our family (non celiac) were all delighted with our meals.

Food is mediocre at best.if you have celiac, you have no worries and will not get sick in my opinion.but this restaurant has gone down hill, again in my opinion.judge for yourself.

Met the chefs wife who was the hostess as we sat for dinner over a month ago and assured me they had separate cooking utensils for gluten free.
AMAZING! I went two
Months ago and took a 40
Minute drive during the pandemic because we water their food again! The pasta fagioli soup is amazing but we tried the clams app tonight and it was incredible. I wish I had
More of their bread for the broth! Anything on their GF menu is
Outstanding!

Outstanding food ! Gluten free menu has a LARGE variety to choose from. Dessert menu has a LARGE selection. Regular menu fantastic. Party of six - appetizers, two bottles of wine, desserts- $325. Price was very good for portions and drinks. Pleasant staff. Friendly. Definitely going again!
The gluten free Chicken Alla Parmiagiana was incredible! It tasted just like the regular one! The gluten free cheesecake was awesome!

Their service is horrible and would only come here for gluten free our door meals. Their entire gluten free menu is from Dukes Gluten free and can be found on Uber eats...
First, the food is absolutely gluten free, and I felt very safe eating here (I have celiac). They served GF bread wrapped in foil, no chance of cross-contamination, and all of the food was clearly gluten free. GF selection was excellent - separate menu for both food and dessert, although pasta was limited to penne (this was fine for us!)
Second, the food was delicious - very tasty! We shared a seafood salad, veal piccata, gnocchi with sage butter, and shrimp scampi. Everything was flavorful and we practically licked the plates.
The downsides: the portions were very small, and quite expensive for what we got. Scampi was 5 shrimp and maybe 1.5 cups of penne. Piccata was 4 small thin slices (3-4" in diameter) and a small scoop of mashed potatoes. Total bill for what we had was $100 plus tax + tip (we did not have drinks). Although the menu said salads were included, only one salad arrived, and it was also small.
The greeting was friendly and the staff were very lovely. While the staff was attentive to the point of hovering at times, we did not get our salad, we didn't get an additional GF roll that they offered and we would have liked (given the smaller portions) and we had to wait for the check.
Overall, I rate restaurants here on GF food, and they would get 5 stars for that. The cost and service dropped a star, but as a celiac, I would recommend. Just don't come too hungry.

Delicious pasta and desserts. My penne vodka passed the Nima too. I wish they would improve their GF appetizers and wine glass list.

Family member developed celiac disease and the chef dedicated part of the kitchen to cooking gluten free. The GF food is delicious.

Wow Maria is a major BIT*H. After placing my order off the very disorganized and limited gluten free menu, the staff waited 45 minutes to inform us that they could not make my dinner as ordered because the meatballs are “pre-made.” Gross. They are probably bought pre-made... On top of this major disappointment, Maria had a horrible attitude and spoke to us in a very condescending tone. I was literally in shock as she stood there with her eyes bulging out pretty much scolding me about how to order from her menu that a toddler could have written more clearly.

Best place ever for celiacs who love Italian food! I am ready to move to New Jersey from western NY! Great & knowledgeable staff .. Maria is so wonderful... offered to make trays and sell me bags of their GF gnocchi... best eating experience since 3 kids and I were diagnosed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy I want to cry.

The staff was amazing. The owner sat down and talked with me about my food restrictions. If you are vegan and gluten free I recommend the eggplant parm! Just call two days ahead .

I would give them 10 stars if I could. What a great find. Service, food, atmosphere all top notch. If you're planning to dine here MAKE RESERVATIONS! Very popular restaurant. Their GF menu had a good variety of appetizers, salads and meals to choose from. You can also order vegetarian and vegan here. Terrific place.

Our Celiac son, who goes to Montclair State, raved about his meal there recently and how attentive they are to gluten free. So my wife and I decided to join him and his girlfriend, and it was fantastic! Literally the first question asked before we were seated was whether anyone was gluten free, and when told my son was celiac, he was given a GF menu when we were seated. Great food, very attentive service (the owner even came over to chat about GF), and they will even be at the Gluten Free Expo in October. Reasonable prices, great service, food and atmosphere with no worry about cross contamination whatsoever. We will definitely be back.

Dedicated gf kitcghen area. Owner has Celiac and staff is highly trained.
Gluten free menu is absolutely wonderful, and the family that owns it are wonderful as well. Extremely knowledgable and diligent about food allergies. This was our first visit and will return soon.

Do yourself a favor and skip this place and go to Roberts Scratch Kitchen instead. the gf menu lis imited and when I asked for pasta dish on "regular" menu but with gluten free pasta they would not accommodate this simple request. Additionally, the prices are very high. Lastly, we didn't ordered dessert but our server brought a gf creme brûlée because we had a birthday in our party - and then charged us $10 for the dessert we didn't order.

Update - 04/28/2017
Three years ago I found out I had celiac and we found this place. Back then it was a treasure. We go a few times a year. On the past few visits we noticed the attention to GF customers has declined. The GF menu has shrunk. One of the things I miss most about being celiac is the pizza. This place use to make awesome pizza and it was the reason I continued to go. They took it off the menu. Don't offer it any more. Very sad. The GF champion, Maria, the daughter of the owners is not as active in the restaurant, so the attention to the GF patrons is not there. The GF creations that she would experiment with and offer are no longer part of the specials or menu. What is offered is standard pasta, eggplant, and parmigiana. That's about it. They are cooked excellent. The taste is amazing. But again, extremely limited menu. This is now a regular Italian restaurant that offers a few gluten free dishes, not "the best GF restaurant I have ever found" place that I previously raved about.
Ps - the only pasta that GF is penna. if you want spaghetti or something else GF it does cost you $5 extra. That's an unwanted change too.
5/24/2014 - I just found out that I have Celiac. Maria, the owner, could see in my face that I was scared and hesitant to start a new diet. She was courteous and explained a lot of things to me. She gave me websites and literature regarding proper care of the disease. I was seated close to her and the staff, and they explained every dish and every process taken to prepare the food. And it tasted AMAZING! I was completely surprised at how good wheat free pasta and bread tasted. I strongly recommend this place.

I so wanted to love this place and patronize it frequently since it is very hard to find safe gluten free Italian prepared in a dedicated space in the kitchen to ensure no cross contamination. The owners daughter Maria was very assuring and explained how careful they are with GF. The first time I came here the GF food and desserts were delicious so I could forgive the very small portions and high prices for a restaurant that was not upscale and had outdated decor. The second time was a huge disappointment. The food was flavorless and the service was very slow and inattentive. My family who ordered from the regular menu said the food was flavorless as well. My daughter asked for spaghetti instead of penne on the side and they charged us $5 extra because they said they only offer penne. The only thing I enjoyed that evening was the GF dessert. We all left so disappointed because we thought we found a place we could go to regularly. I'm amazed at the great reviews because the food was so inconsistent.

Friendly people and pretty big gluten free menu. The food is just average though
Everyone here is very friendly and accommodating. They owner explained that everything gluten free is prepared with designated gluten free pots and utensils. I felt very safe eating here and the food is delicious! All the desserts are gluten free and two were even gluten and dairy free!
