before we ordered we asked about GF options and were assured the chicken was GF. Our waitress even went to ask the chef and they said it was ok. it was brought out with fried onion on top so I sent it back and they just picked them off the top and sent it back out. I had to send it back again and have it remade. It was good but be CAREFUL!!

Went for lunch. No separate fryer. Was very specific about celiac. Insisted grilled chicken was gluten free. Came out with fried onions on top.

Had a great experience here last night. Called ahead to confirm menu and hostess offered to have me speak to manager. He was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about cross-contamination concerns. About 75% of the menu is already GF or able to be prepared that way. Dedicated fryer so my husband ecstatically ordered and devoured the rosemary & sage fries (which were awesome btw - GF or not). All four in our party (both Celiac and not) were very happy with our meals.

oh. my. GOD! This place is awesome! My hubby and I came in after an afternoon at the DMA, the staff is amazing (even made a special cocktail for him), definitely recommend sitting in the bar if you're a small group. The bartenders will take care of you!

Unique flavors. The "Curry Pillows" (not G/F) were great. Like a dumpling sized pot pie, with crisp crust, and the cilantro chutney was way more flavorful than I expected. It took the show.

They have several unique cocktails, all revolving around bitters. Good, but overshadowed by the great food.

The Moo Krab (pork belly) was crisp, and flavorful. Fatty, but it melted and blended with the bok choy slaw, and the rice. The sauce is mildly spicy, and a hint of sweet. The slaw was minty and lemon infused.

The Texas Grilled Hanger Steak was the most juicy, flavorful steak I can remember having. It was delivered as ordered (medium), with butter in the center, toasted bread crumbs along the length, and pre-sliced into bite sized medallions. The arugala was lemony, and was three different flavors as it wilted, picked up butter, and finally steak juice. The fingerling potatoes were lightly crisped, and added flavor, bulk, and helped pick up extra juice. Ask for no bread crumbs.

Ambiance is a little up-scale, but shorts were okay. Music is contemporary. Overall volume is a little loud, mostly from talking and kitchen sounds. Still easy to converse, but might be an issue for noise sensitive types.

Walls are adorned with chalk illustrations.

The staff, start to finish, was polite and full of smiles. Our waitress, Malia, was also over 6' tall. Power to the tall people! (No offense intended to my fun-sized friends!) She knew what gluten free means, and knew the obvious things. When in doubt, she stepped over to the kitchen to verify. No major delays from this either. She came right back.

This was such a great place looking right over the park and the restaurant itself was so nicely decorated. The waiter was very knowledgable and worked with me and suggested some wonderful dishes that were dairy and gluten free.

Fabulous, up-scale food next to Klyde Warren Park. Perfect place to eat before going to Winspear or other location in Arts District. I had scallops, and tried husband's ribeye...both gf and awesome. All gf served normal, none of the "without sauce" stuff!
