Dedicated GF menu, was very tasty
They have a designated gluten free menu and work directly with a GF bakery. They have bread, waffles, and french toast that is GF! Very good and lots to choose from!
We were diappointed that the waffle maker is used for both GF and regular waffles, but grateful the waiter explained that while we were ordering. The gf pancakes were awesome, some of the best I've ever had. The coffee was excellent. The food and service both get an A++.
This place is out of business now.
I have celiac and had no issues. This place is the perfect stop. A ton of gf choices and one of the owners had celiac. They are aware of cross contamination and keep everything separate. Will def be back! Get the waffles!! The scenery is an added bonus! :)
We had the gluten free menu and ordered gluten free. A second waiter brought out our order and the potatoes looked fried. We asked, and he assured us they were gluten free. Our original waiter stopped by and looked concerned, and went to check and the potatoes has been cooked in the same fryer as every other flour based fried thing. This was after my wife has eaten two potatoes and is now sick. The manager came by but was completely nonchalant. To top it all off they up charged her order $4.00 without any notice. $15.00 for pancakes, bacon and eggs with a side of gluten was not a pleasant breakfast. Try the Le Peep in Frisco. We won't be back to this one ever.
I was very excited to eat here and they have an impressive gluten free menu however the staff isn't the best. I asked for the gluten free menu and he removed all others. When I ordered I had the gluten free menu and specified the same. When my food came it didn't look gluten free and when I tasted it any one who has eaten GF bread it isn't known for being fluffy. He assured me it was but when I checked out and saw it was the uncharged GF price I knew it wasn't GF. I was sick for 3 days. It's a shame such great options and no extra time taken to ensure things are right
I am so happy I found this place. The atmosphere is nice, up to date, and comfortable. It's right on the water. Beautiful view. I get emotional when I see such a big gluten free menu. My husband and I are on vacation and slept late, so I was overjoyed to see that they serve breakfast all day. Our server, Lisa, had ready and excellent recommendations. I ordered the Belgium Waffle Combo, and breakdown is as follows: I would travel for the waffle. Perfection. Texture, flavor, A+++ Over easy eggs were undercooked. I like a runny yoke, but runny whites are a no no. The flavor of both the turkey sausage and peasant potatoes were absolutely delicious, but both were a bit dry. I hope they can work out some of the fine tuning on the food, but those things won't stop me from coming back many times! I'll just order the waffle without the sides next time around.
Only Ok - they do tout a GF waffle, but the waitress notified me it is no longer a dedicated iron as they had one break and decided to start using the GF one when busy. Poor form. The omelette and potatoes were fine and priced well, but I was quite disappointed with the lack of a waffle when it was expected.
My girlfriend has celiac and this place is perfect. The staff (so far) is very knowledgeable about gluten free vs gluten friendly. The breakfast menu is a 9 out of 10 according to my girlfriend.
I really didn't like the waffle... It was dry and old tasting. Server had no idea if the syrup was gluten free and they didn't have pure maple syrup offered. She did confirm it was a gf waffle iron so 3 stars for the effort but really not tasty.
This place is great! I love the gluten free waffle platter, just $9.99, best waffle I've ever had. Also, the staff is very friendly with good morale. You're never rushed, and it's a great alternative to waiting at the Buff for an hour for a table. Although the Buff is awesome too. Great mimosas. Never been sick and I'm very sensitive.
I've been going there for years but they just started catering to celiacs. No GF menu but they have a delicious gluten free Belgian waffle made on a dedicated GF waffle iron. Not on the menu yet you just have to ask for it. The owner is working on some gluten free crepes that would also be made in the dedicated space. The owner is very approachable and seems to be very conscientious of cross contamination issues.
One of the few places we've visited in the area with an actual gluten free menu and knowledgeable staff. Our waitress was extremely accommodating and helpful. The food was good, not exxceptional, but definitely worth re-visiting, although their GF pancakes WERE particularly good! We give the service 5 stars for knowledge and friendliness!
I had the gf pancakes. They were HUGE! They have a separate menu for gluten sensitive. I had no problems with the pancake plate. The waffles are cross contaminated. I was bummed out. I really wanted waffles.
Wow!!! Great food, almost everything can be made GF. Al, the owner seated us and told me what I could eat and assured me that precautions are made in the kitchen. Ann, our server made suggestions about what I could eat. She was very attentive, even giving suggestions for places to visit in the area. I was traveling through Kansas City and will be back when close to the city.
love breakfast! always something interesting to eat
GF waffle, pancakes, and French toast. Hostess addressed cross contamination concerns and spoke to server about ensuring the meal would be GF.
