waitress was extremely helpful and gave us a GF menu and showed us the updates on the current memu.
The manager just told me that Logan's has changed so much of the sourcing of products that they no longer can even show me a Gluten Free menu. They are having a company come in to review their menu and procedures before they will be able to offer a gluten free menu again. : (
I enjoyed every thing but the ice burg lettuce. The service was great, the brought two gluten free menus with no strange looks, music was nice in the back ground, just nice.
The food was good, you have to talk to the manager about a gluten free menu and they will print you out a menu. The manager will also ask if you have an allergy or if it's just a low gluten diet. In my case I have Celiacs so they cooked my food separate from everything else.
We have been here before without a problem, but this last time was a deal breaker! They have a gluten free menu, but it clearly states that although they try to be careful, no guarantees. The waitress we had was very nice and showed real concern, but the food delivery person brought out the wrong butter. It was in a separate dish, so no issue. However when ordering, I asked for the ranch because it was on the list of gf dressings, but lamented about wanting the Roadhouse ranch which was not on the list. The waitress told me it should be on the list, because the only difference was it added fresh cilantro and lime. I said ok, I'll take that. It came out and was really spicy (should have stopped right there). I'm sure there was something else in it. About half hour later I was sick. Not to mention the tough steak on the salad. Won't be going back. Bummer.
Went with my husband and they have a one sheet of paper gluten free menu which just list the items you can eat and everything says (plain) next to it. Baked potato (plain), asparagus (plain). How stupid is that?! Apparently they don't even use butter, only Margarine and they can't be sure. We asked the manager and he joked around and made light of it all. We left. No way I'm going to eat there... EVER!
Leaving 0 stars isn't possible. They have no gluten free options. Just an allergy list which shows every item has gluten. The manager couldn't be bothered to come out after I asked what happened to the gluten free menu we saw online. This should be removed immediately from this app.
There's no GF menu, but I got a great server who understood what I could have and not have. He had been informed when my party was seated that I was eating GF and had simple recommendations that were safe and delicious. I ended up getting grilled chicken with broccoli and a side salad without croutons.
We went to our closest location for dinner last night. I asked out waitress for a gluten free menu when she took our drink order. She brought our drinks out. Later arrived with my husbands drink from the bar. She began to take our order but hadn't brought me the GF menu. Luckily enough I looked it up on my phone that was about to die. Our service is always spotty here 😕
If you go here, take your own butter! Their butter has gluten in it. They use to have a real butter option, but the company no longer has it available. When I get a steak, I want a potato with butter. That is no longer an option at any Logan's location.
It seems they have done away with the gf menu. I asked for one and the hostess told me they didn't have one, but she could bring me the old one. She said the regular menu had changed, but the recipes were the same. My food was not good at all. I did not get sick which is a huge plus, but the lack of an updated gf menu list makes me nervous. And several other locations that I have stopped at didn't have a gf menu either. I think I'm done with this chain.
I ate here several times last Fall and had good experiences, but after a bad experience last night (bad gluten reaction from steak, salad w/no croutons and honey mustard, broccoli and bad service) and reading the reviews today that they have changed their suppliers and no longer can do gluten free, I probably won't be going there until they are more gluten-aware. The grilled chicken and grilled steak salads used to be my go-to items, but I've had reactions twice to the chicken on the salad (maybe the special sauce they put on the chicken) and now still dealing with a bad reaction to their sirloin steak.
They DO NOT have a gluten free menu, the management dose not know when they will get a new one as their menu is changing and under review.
They had a gluten free menu with steak, pork chops, fish, chicken, and salads. Good selection of sides to choose from. Our wait staff was knowledgeable and the food was good.
Told staff I had a gluten allergy, my waitress did not know what that was. She called her manager over and he told me he would personally make sure my food would be gluten free. So, I decided to trust him, Bad decision. The first thing I received was my salad which had a couple of croutons in it... Needless to say, I cut my meal short. Manager apologized, but it was to late at that point. I will never eat here again.
There is not a big variety. WARNING!!! To all people with peanut allergies, on the table there is a bucket of peanuts. There service was mediocre. They could not for the life of them the gluten free menu. Finally after 15 minutes we looked online. Not my favorite. To get the baked potato they had to leave the whipped margarine off. When the potato came there was whipped margarine on it. They also got my grandma's order wrong and everything was over seasoned. All in all awful.
We ate there at about 4:00 and it wasn't very busy. I try to eat at off times when possible to hope for less chance of xcc. The server, Jordan, was efficient and seemed to be up on GF. I had the 6oz. filet, broccoli, and baked potato with no issues whatsoever. I would definitely eat there again.
no gluten free menu not good restaurant overall at this location staff not educated
This location once had a gluten free menu but today they informed me they have removed the GF menu. Its unfortunate because in the past the african american manager (didnt get his name) here actually cleaned the grill so i wouldn't get cross contamination going over and beyond. Sad that they are going seemingly backwards in evolution of diet and restaurants.
Good thing we knew to ask for a manager. No GF menu, the waitress didn't have any idea what that was. The manager listed off everything that was GF, then left. I had to rely on my memory and then order my food when the apathetic waitress eventually reappeared. My food came out a half hour after everyone else's did. Service left a lot to be desired.
My waiter was some what aware of the GF menu but when my salad came out it had croutons on it, not sure if they made a new one or just removed them. I do not have a real bed intolerance, just have a reaction if I eat a lot of gluten. I also have diabetes and they could not tell me how many carbs items had over all not to bad but I would be very careful if you are very sensitive to gluten. Kitchen Manager did come out to check with me and my steak did have a pick in it to show it was a special order. Block butter was great!
I was extremely skeptical about eating here because of the bad reviews. However, I decided to try it but be very adamant to the waitress that I was allergic and extremely sensitive to gluten. She brought me a gluten free menu which I ordered a sweet potato...plain ( brought my own butter) and veggie skewer. I ordered grilled shrimp kabobs ala cart with no rice and I made sure to say no rice... it can't even touch it. She understood. The food came exactly how I ordered it. It did not make me sick and was very good. maybe I just got lucky but I am pleasantly surprised. I worried the whole meal that I would start to feel sick within the hour but I'm fine. I was very very clear about my gluten allergy and asked the waitress to please tell the cooks.
I am 50 year old recently diagnosed with celiac. Felt safe trying Logans in Oxford, Al. eating a steak with fries and corn. Yeah I'm still learning. Terrible mistake...up all night in the bathroom and missed a day of work. Not sure what item set this off but it was for sure at Logans where I got it.
No gluten free menu but I do know we cannot eat the butter or the bacon. I always get a steak with baked potato and bring my own butter to throw on when it comes out. The sour cream and cheese are fine. Seasoning on the steak is fine. I have severe celiac and have never had a problem eating at Logan's. Just be smart and go with steak and potato. Can't go wrong.
In all fairness, they corrected the mistake, but the initial response left me wondering about the safety. My husband has Celiac but I usually do the requests if we dine out because I'm more assertive about the diet requirements. He ordered from the gluten free menu and made it clear it needed to be gluten free- but they brought his salad out with croutons. I had ordered the same (with croutons) and the table runner seemed baffled when I pointed out that there should be one without croutons. He said he would just "go take them off" so we sent our server after him to make sure it was made fresh without cross contamination. Now, obviously if someone had a peanut allergy you wouldn't expect Logan's to be safe, but tonight's dinner did not leave us feeling like it was the safest bet. When we travel- it's just not easy and unfortunately, gluten-free menus do not mean that staff really understand. Maybe "gluten free" friendly if you can withstand a little cross contamination, but I wouldn't say this place was Celiac friendly.
