We were super excited when we found this dedicated restaurant when planning our trip home from Fayetteville. We drove past our hotel to eat dinne here. We made sure that its would be open for business on a Sunday evening and had plenty of time since the website states 7 pm. We were tired and starved, salivating at the idea of home cooked food only to be disappointed to find an empty parking lot and locked doors at 5pm! The banner out front restated the 7pm close and so did the sign on the door. Not sure what happened but it was desolate. Since there is nothing else around we drove back to Olive Branch to find other options.

This is the best home cooking, whether you need gluten free or not. I just had fried catfish, turnip greens, fried okra and fresh cornbread. They also have wonderful desserts. It was totally yummy!

Great place! Well worth the drive from Memphis! Southern cooking done right - the shrimp po' boy was delicious, the kids' chicken fingers were on point, and the chef gifted us a basket of his incredibly tender and yummy chicken livers! I can't say enough!!!!

Absolutely love this restaurant!!! 100% dedicated gluten free kitchen and I promise you can't tell by tasting it! Southern style food, family style restaurant. Great service, the owner and the cook came out to greet us. It's not often I can go out and enjoy good food and good people without risk of getting sick. Great experience I will be back the next time I'm in the area!

Made the trip here on way home from Memphis based on user reviews (a good bit out of the way). Dedicated GF restaurant, nothing fancy and only open Thurs-Sun. Owners very nice and knowledgeable- love that they offer a full menu. Were out of a number of items the Sunday night we went- including dessert:( Wings, fried catfish, Grilled cheese and green beans really good. Hamburger steak left a bit to be desired. Would return if in the area again, but will call a day or two ahead to make sure that they have dessert for us!

Awesome dinner experience! I didn't have to be concerned with how the food was prepared. My husband who is not GF thoroughly enjoyed the fresh, delicious home cooked food! Two thumbs up!

GF Back to Basics (aka Magnolia Cafe) is fantastic! A dedicated gluten free restaurant in North Mississippi has been a dream for me until today when this wonderful establishment opened! The menu has great variety (Catfish, chicken, dressing, meatloaf, hamburger steak, pork chops, soups, salad, fried green tomatoes, veggies, sweet potato pie, peach pecan cobbler, homemade bread, and more--soon adding BBQ and brisket.). My entire family (not gf) enjoyed it, too, and my 10 year old said she couldn't tell it was gf!! They also sold me a loaf of gf bread to take home. The great food, family-friendly atmosphere and pleasant dining experience will bring customers back again and again. It was totally worth the 30 mile drive!
