Wow! I am gf and vegan which makes eating out a challenge. Momma's knocks it out if the park with their rustica style Italian food. Extensive gf and vegan menu. Everything was amazing. I'm sad I live so far away but we will definitely be back.

I found Mama’s cafe Baci last year while doing my clinicals at Hackettstown hospital. I had just been diagnosed with celiac disease the summer of 2023, so hearing I would have to attend clinicals an hour away from my house created a great bit of anxiety related to eating concerns. While in the area, I heard about Mama’s and decided to place an order. I have continued to order from there ever since! Unlike most restaurants, Mama’s Cafe Baci has full gluten free menu, and nothing disappoints. I have no worries about cross contamination as they have separate friers and equipment to prepare gluten free food. Although it’s a far drive from my house, I find myself taking the drive at least once a month and would definitely go more often if it weren’t so far. Do not hesitate to visit this restaurant! Their food options made me feel like I had a more normal diet again!

I can’t not say enough good things about this restaurant. It is amazing! There are sooooo many GF options to pick from and I honestly was so overwhelmed looking at the menu because I’m so used to restaurants having such small options for people who are GF. I have celiac disease and the smallest amount of cross contamination gives me a horrible reaction and it’s safe to say this place passed the test and I did NOT get sick. This is the only restaurant I’ve been too (besides restaurants in Disney lol) that serves a warm GF bread roll before your food comes out. Best yet they have a little plaque that says gluten free that is put at the end of the table to make servers aware that someone in the party is gluten free. The portions are also a great size, I went for lunch and I had to take my food home with me because I was so full. If you have celiac like myself you definitely have to give this place a try! So many options to choose from!

Safe for celiac and accommodates all types of allergies. Great gluten free catering options for the holidays or an event.

The good: Alcoholic drinks labeled if they are gluten free, Soups, Mozzarella sticks, Rosa sauce on pasta, Salmon feta salad surprisingly all the flavors work together, Roasted red pepper salad dressing and most chicken dishes.

Pizza is just okay and sometimes too salty.

The bad: GF Bread isn’t too good and they only give you a tiny piece. Appetizers are small in size. Sandwiches are small in size. Desserts are small in size. Expect a sliver of cake. Alfredo sauce tastes plain. Bolognese not the best.

This place is the best Italian resteraunt for not just gluten allergy but all other allergies too. You can literally get anything you want here it’s amazing and the best part it’s safe and they do a very good job making sure of it! I love everything they have that I can eat! Sherry who is a waitress there is very good with all food allergies too and she always makes sure my food is safe when I’m there too. Love how great the staff is with food allergies!

Hands down the best GF Italian Food you’ll ever find. My work has had me in cities all over the world but I’m thrilled to live only 45 minutes from Mama’s. You can get almost anything on the regular menu made gluten-free, in a separate kitchen, by a very knowledgeable and understanding staff. Absolutely love Mama’s! My favorite place to eat in Hackettstown. They have so many options for gluten & dairy free. They truly listen to you and make sure it is made separate from everything else. Their options are so wide spread and actually tastes good and authentic!

A couple years ago I spoke with the owner, and he advised that several years back they built an entire GF dedicated kitchen. So when you're eating GF, you can be assured there's no cross contamination. When you're seated, as long as you specify someone in your party has a gluten allergy, they put a plaque on the table that shows someone in GF, and they make sure to bring GF alternatives to the table. First place in a long time where I've gotten a warm dinner roll to start a meal! Everything is delicious, but my fave meal is the champagne chicken. For dessert, the cinnamon roll is ridiculous, as is the Nutella/cannoli cup (can't remember the name). You can't go wrong ordering anything here!

This is like Disney World for food allergies. I am GF DF and the menu is PAGES long with anything you could imagine. They have mozzarella sticks for goodness sake! AMAZING!!! Mama’s caters to gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian, and vegan. I loved being offered complimentary gluten free bread and not being charged, and I was also offered a complimentary version of Mama’s special of the day to try. I love the Duet concept because I was able to get Lobster Ravioli and Breaded Chicken Pasta. For dessert, I was brought an entire gluten free dessert menu - I ordered cannolis. Yum!!! 10/10 recommend if you’re in Hackettstown!!!

This place has potential to be amazing, but this is the second time I’ve been glutened there. I have celiac disease so it’s a big deal. Once, I was assured by the waitstaff that my bread was gluten free. After I ate a roll, they came back and said “oh no, that has gluten, sorry!” This time, I was told the salad / croutons were gluten free. I ate some and then asked again, because the croutons seemed too good. And then the chef confirmed they were gluten croutons.

I’m really sad about it bc this place has great gf food and has potential- but there’s a disconnect with the kitchen / communication.

My boyfriend and I are gluten free- he is gluten intolerant and the gf food is to die for! My favorite was the homemade gf bread, gf garlic mozzarella sticks, risotto, calamari and chicken fingers. We almost ate everything on the menu. We frequent a lot of gf restaurants all over NJ and this by far is our favorite. I never write reviews but I especially went out of my way to write this one!!! I am an extremely sensitive celiac and could not be happier about the truly wonderful service and delicious meal we had here! We decided to try a new place for our two-year anniversary and what a gem!!! We visited back in October and not only was everything a m a z i n g but the staff was so knowledgeable. I typically have to interrogate the waiter, manager, and chef before I feel comfortable but I felt so safe here. They also put cute little framed gluten free signs on the table which also made me feel relaxed because the waitress was so well-versed. The manager came over without being prompted just to check in and after a chat we could tell that the staff really cares about providing a safe, quality meal to celiacs.

We ordered a ridiculous amount of food and all of it was outstanding, but our all-time favorites were the pierogies, onion rings, stuffed mushrooms, the osso bucco, lobster ravioli, and the cosmopolitan pasta. I don't even like pork and ate half my boyfriend's osso bucco and I swear we both crave that champagne sauce at least twice a week! I highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to go back!

This restaurant offers SO MANY GF options!! I am in awe of their menu and all that they have to offer. GF onion rings, mozzarella sticks, breaded chicken, pasta, sandwiches with different bread options, and much much more. We sat down to eat and they placed a gluten free table marker on the table we were sitting at, and then after taking our drink orders brought a sample of a pasta special they had. They brought out a GF sample and a regular sample for my boyfriend, who does not each GF. They then brought out GF bread and it was to die for. Excellent food all around. Incredible food and experience! We got to sit outside which was lovely. The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. When I asked if they had a separate fryer, I was told they have a whole separate kitchen!!! They put a gluten free tag on my table so it was easy to tell we were gluten free. I was served hot gluten free bread before the meal. HUGE menu, we got a few things and everything was delicious. I did not get sick afterwards either. I will definitely be coming back!

I literally teared up when I looked at their gluten free menu and had so many CHOICES!! I ordered gf mozzarella sticks and chicken parm with penne. It was INCREDIBLE. I had a special gf sign at my place and was served bread and risotto as a side. 10/10. Will return!!

Mama’s is our go to for everything. Casual pizza night, date night, holiday, catering... they cover it all! My mom and I both have celiac and have eaten here many times and never gotten sick. Their gluten free menu is HUGE and is so good you’ll doubt it’s GF.

My husband and I took our daughter. She and I are both celiac and I am also dairy free. The owner sat with us for 10 minutes and explained his philosophy on taking care of folks with celiac disease and gluten intolerance. He suggested certain dishes that he thought we’d enjoy and really made us feel comfortable. My daughter was thrilled to have fried calimari! And he insisted she try a mozzarella stick (because she’s never ever had one!) He even brought me a delicious dairy free mozzarella stick! This is our new favorite place to take her! We felt totally safe and enjoyed our meals!

You cannot beat the food selections here! This is my son’s favorite restaurant by far! He loves the mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers and fries. So good and very safe!

Good service. I had fried calamari & other fried apps for the 1st time in over 10 years with none of the usual gastro issues I usually get when I’m glutened. They also offer gf ravioli, which tasted amazing!

We have gone to mamas several times bc my son is celiacs and very sensitive. Last week we ordered take out, everything that we ordered GF for my son was marked according. 2 hours later in his sleep he was violently ill. Vomited all over his room and then 2x more. I called the next day and I was not pleased with the response. They said they would investigate what happened, seemed to interrogate me as if it was my fault! Did not apologize, ask if he was ok or offer any compensation. I had to pay for a steam cleaner to clean the carpets. I am not sure they are as safe as they say and I cannot trust to go back.

The entire menu can be made gluten free. We were amazed to see gluten free garlic bread and mozzarella sticks on the menu, not to mention they brought out fresh baked gluten free bread and the “Gluten Free Sample of The Day” which was risotto in a creamy pink champagne sauce. Everything was amazing!

From the service to the quality of food!! Top notch. We live an hour and a half from here. We will be back.... No doubt. I'm GF my daughter is vegan. My poor husband is always stuck going places with us & very rarely do we all walk out with a smile. Everyone was very happy. Highly recommend ❤
