Symptomatic Celiac

I do not recommend this place for celiac or gluten allergy. Only those eating GF for lifestyle reasons,

We knew about a recent poor review, but gave this restaurant a shot. We had been at the zoo all day, out of town, having packed all our food, except dinner. We arrived at 6 pm. We’re handed a menu with GF marked items. My son has a sunflower allergy, in addition to my daughter and I with celiac. They could not provide us their bread ingredients since they throw away all the packaging. We got our food 90 mins later. My daughter and my food tested positive for gluten on my Nima device, but my daughter had already eaten a few bites before I realized. My daughter was sick all night.I felt so bad. She got a plain burger on GF bun and I got the grilled Chicken sandwich on GF bun with smashed taters. My son ate a burger with cheese no bun,he had no reaction. The drinks were delicious, my typical eating husband loved his meal. The waitress was wonderful, she cared, she worked hard. The manager also came over, very concerned and genuine. I hate to give a low rating because this restaurant team did try and did care. We left with Togo salads.

We ordered the guac off the gluten free menu, it was delivered by someone other than our waitress. When our waitress came to check on us she looked horrified and told us the chips we were eating weren’t the gluten free ones. The manager came over and handled it very well and was very apologetic. It’s a bummer because everyone seems to have had a great experience. We may try again based solely on the manager saying he will personally take care of us the next time we come in.

I ate here and didn’t get sick. I also love that they have a list of all gf cocktails. It’s the kinda place you feel “normal” at.

The wait staff are all familiar with the needs of a GF person AND the manager hand delivered my meal. They were extremely cautious and were able to tell me which cocktails were safe. I felt like a normal customer here!

They have a separate GF menu.. ordered the Crab and Shrimp Volcano for a meal... very filling and delicious. It is served over some crispy rice. Asked for the sweet Thai chili aioli on the side

One of the best burgers and mashed potatoes I've ever had! Fries stand chance of cc so stick with potatoes! They even have gf moonshine. I loved the atmosphere and the prices are great! Me, husband and child ate dinner for $35! Total!

My daughter asked if she could marry her hamburger. I think she liked it. It was probably the best hamburger I've ever eaten. Wasn't impressed with their coleslaw. I wish they had fries. Next time we'll get the mashed potatoes.

They have an amazing gluten free shepherd's pie. It was so good I asked if they were sure my food was gluten free. On a side note, the reason the queso isn't gluten free is because they put beer in it. But I definitely recommend the chips with guacamole instead. They also have gluten free hamburger buns too, but I didn't try those yet.

Terrible experience!

My friend ordered GF and Vegan and asked the waiter many times to make sure it was. The dish came with scrambled eggs mixed in!

I ordered a GF item from the GF menu and my mouth is swelling and I hope and pray I am not ER bound within the next few hours. My omelet had a side of potatoes that I assume night have been in the same grease as a breaded product. I honestly am very disappointed and shocked! Why have a GF menu if you are lying and making others sick?

There was little care from the staff for their mistakes.

Do NOT Trust This restaurant!

I dined at this restaurant yesterday, 6-13-2021.at the 2948 Crockett St. FT. Worth Location. First and foremost, I chose this restaurant because I found your facility on the Gluten Free restaurant app. as having a gluten free menu. Therefore I felt safe eating there. Come to find out, it was the biggest mistakes I ever made and I paid dearly for it that day. I ordered a cheese burger and fries off the Gluten Free menu,(my hostess seemed to be a little bothered that she had to go get me a gluten free menu) which there was a rather large menu of Gluten Free items on it, which you do not see a lot of when dining out. What I was served was NOT GLUTEN FREE! I was in severe PAIN all night long. I am not at work this Monday morning, still trying to get over the effects of having Gluten still in my body. People with sensitivity to gluten and Celiac disease become very ill with excruciating pain. Gluten in one’s body leads to damage of the small intestine. Man…it’s like having a food allergy that can kill you. When a consumer eats at Smash’d and we tell the hostess we can only eat from your Gluten free menu, one would hope and pray the staff and the cook understand what is at stake here. Please educate your staff and your cook when serving and cooking for a Gluten free guest. Side note: I will never eat at your facility again and I have friends that are also on a GF diet, to never eat at your facility because it is not safe to eat there. And if my pain had gotten to the point that I had to go to the hospital, your facility would be looking at a lawsuit. Also, it took about 5 min. for someone to even approach my table to get me water to drink, my hostess was horrible, she was not friendly, the food was not good at all, and my burger was a wet soggy mess. I was so disappointed. I thank you for your time in the matter your truly, a very dissatisfied customer. The restaurant replied to my complaint asking me to come back in for a lunch on them. I replied with : Hello Carson, I thank you for responding to my complaint/ concerns. I just wanted you to be aware, that when you put a plate of gluten-free food in front of somebody. You are responsible in making sure that everything on that plate is gluten-free as you advertised. And you must also be aware of cross-contamination that goes on in the kitchen when cooking gluten free food. All of the restaurants I’ve gone to, I tell them I cannot have gluten. They always address my issues. And the cook even comes out and speaks to me and make sure that I will receive gluten free food and they make sure there will be no cross-contamination as well. And so far these restaurants have lived up to their gluten free advertisement. As of now I will have to decline your request to come back in and dine at your restaurant. I just don’t feel safe eating at your restaurant. I hope that you will do better next time when the next consumer comes in and request gluten free food. Yours truly, Dissatisfied customer

Lisa, I first want to personally apologize for you not feeling well. Us here at Mash’d want to serve and take care of each and every guest and there requests. We never want someone with an allergy or sensitivity to every get served something that they have requested that they can not eat. I would like to make this right anyway possible. Can I personally invite you back sometime for a meal on us so you can truly experience what we are all about here at Mash’d?
