I was so excited about this place! Their menu stated clearly how careful they are to not cross-contaminate....the gf pizza was really good! BUT...10 min later I started my normal 60 min of torture. Ending up in the bathroom at the movie theatre for 45 min. I hate to say it, but I cannot recommend mellow mushroom as a GF restaurant, esp if you are celiac &/or react negatively to gluten
On the one hand, they will serve you GF pizza for the same price. On the other hand, the gf options don't include vegetarian protein, and vegan cheese costs extra. And while they will substitute gf crust for the pita on the hummus, they charge $7 extra for it and didn't tell us in advance.
Staff is knowledgeable about cross contamination and will accommodate if you let them know you are Celiac. The GF pizza is one of the best tasting. On the pricey side, but worth it. The GF pizza takes longer to cook, so we always order it with our drinks.
Placed an order ahead of time for a party and asked them to not cook the order until it was time for pick up. Picked up cold pizza. Second time, they made an error and made a non-gf crust so they had to cook a second time. Tried to charge me for both pizzas, even the one we didn't order.
Did a very good job with trying to avoid cc. Pizza was pretty good. I'm very sensitive and had no issues
The best GF pizza in town - mighty meaty is delicious!
The pizza I got was pretty good, probably one of the best I've had. The price is pretty high so I most likely wont return. $25 is too much for a pizza anywhere!
Gluten free pizza. Very aware. Cooks on a separate stone. Has GF beer and cider
Pizza was really good...enough to split for sure! Next time I will ask for 1/2 the amount of cheese to cut back on calories...it had plenty!
My favorite GF pizza in town!
We got take out from this location during a recent vacation at Great Wolf Lodge in December 2014. My daughter has Celiac Disease and I am gluten intolerant. We had no problems except for our large salad was no where near a large. Apparently, they thought since it was take out we would never notice. So, check your take out salads. Otherwise, everything was fine with our 2 gluten free pizzas.
Good gluten free pizza. Not the typical cracker-like crust you get most places. The toppings are awesome as well.
Yummy DF and gf options
the waitress was very knowledgeable about the gluten free options and very cautious not to even let my pizza touch the non gluten free pizzas at the table. On to of that the pizza was delicious! they even do half and half pizzas so you can have options.
Awesome gluten free pizza! I highly recommend this place. The worker even warmed my pizza back up for me because I had stepped out side for a moment and it had arrived at my family's table. The worker was very concerned to keep it separate from my kids pizzas. Loved this place! .
Great pizza!!! I just love when servers don't look at me stupid when I ask them about their options! My go-to pizza place!
WATCH OUT I was served a beer that was not gluten free. The waitress said that she was told that it was gluten free. Had I not known about this particular beer, I would have become very ill. They have Estrella Damm which is a spanish beer that does have a gluten free version called Daura, but you have to be very careful because the non gluten free bottles look very similar to the gluten free bottles. The Daura bottle does have Gluten Free on it. WATCH OUT!!!!
They actually make a gf crust... Not a yucky prepackaged, frozen thing.... Good crust. Nice and crispy. Delicious toppings. Nice note in their menu about how the kitchen staff use gloves and new utensils and a special screen so that the gf pizza doesn't touch the pizza stone... They also warn that there is flour in the kitchen and they'll do their best to avoid cross contamination.... But it's not a dedicated gf kitchen.
I give it 2 stars because they have a gf menu AND I've never gotten sick from eating there. But the pizza isn't good. It's better if you ask them for extra cooked. Otherwise it's like eating very expensive soggy cardboard. There's better gf pizza out there. Somewhere.
They have changed their policy since a couple years ago. I am not gluten free my fiancee is. And I am now an advocate for celiac because of him. They took very good care of him. They clean their hands, change their apron, and prepared it safely. Also the oven has a spot where all the gluten free go. It is cheaper if you just get a gluten free cheese and add like one topping. Four stars because one waitress just was rather rude one day and didn't even care to read the dining card and brought our salad with crackers in it -.-..
The GF crust isn't the best I've ever had, but overall not bad. I've only had one problem when eating here and it was with the mega veggie pizza. I later found out the feta cheese does not come from a GF facility. The other options never bother me. The service is always great here!
Super good pizza!! Much larger than most too. Many pizza and salad choices as well as a few GF beers!! Yum
Waited for a long long time to get our food and that isn't the worst of it! I don't have celiac but, Im highly allergic to wheat and when I told the waitress I needed to order from the GF menu, I had to tell her I have an allergy! I have been reacting ever since I finished dinner. This usual happens when they cross contaminate! Celiacs and Wheat allergies beware!!!
Gluten free pizza available with many topping choices. Thin crust. Ours was a little overdone, but otherwise good. Rest of our party really enjoyed the non-GF pizza too. Creative topping options. GF hard cider available. Service could have been friendlier during our visit.
Very good practices to avoid cross-contact.
