If you want gluten free here all of the flavors that are GF are labeled. Then you need to ask them to go in the back and scoop the ice cream that is unopened. They are happy to do it. It takes a little longer, but it's worth it. The ice cream is delicious!

I’ve gone to Nelson’s for years. However the last time I went I got ice cream with waffle cone mixed into the moose tracks I ordered. It was in the middle of my ice cream so I didn’t see it until it was to late. I ended up being sick because of this. While I loved going here I will never go again.

They have a bunch of their ice creams labeled gluten free and if you let them know it's an allergy, they gladly washed the scoop and got my ice cream from a fresh container in the back. HUGE servings too!!
Employees are very willing to get clean scoops and fresh tubs! My daughter has celiac disease and has eaten here many times without getting any cross contamination. Obviously she can't have the cones, but that doesn't bother her.

As far as the shop itself goes - you get tons and tons of ice cream for just a child size cup. It's a small shop that seems like it's been in town forever. As far as gluten-free goes - they really did not know what flavors where gluten-free. The employee offered to check the label on the tub, but wasn't really sure where to look or what to look for. I had called ahead of time and asked if they had gluten-free flavors, so I was surprised when I got there that the employees weren't sure. I ended up going with what I thought was a safe choice. After hearing I had an "allergy", the employee cleaned an ice cream scoop and went into the back to scoop my cup, without my even asking, so that was great!
