My first review. Had tried this cute place for the first time in June. BEST GF food I have ever had. Hope they open another location. Such nice staff!
Yes
Nope unfortunately not celiac safe. I ordered a gluten free pizza with vegan cheese. I informed them I had celiac disease. When the pizza arrived I used my Nima and it tested positive for gluten. I was shocked because I had been here once before and their reviews were good. The owner come out and was mortified. He tried to figure the point of contamination. Unfortunately, I only had one capsule so I couldn’t test another pizza. I ended up getting sick anyhow because I had to use my finger to get a sample for the Nima test since the plastic knife and fork weren’t cutting properly. I was distracted when gluten was found and everyone came over. I ended up eating a gf muffin I had in my bag while my friend finished her pizza. I used the hand that touched the sample to eat and then remembered I had not washed after touching the pizza. By the end of the night I was super sick and was sick for the next few days. The owner gave me 2 free brownies and returned my money as an apology. He gave me his number so I could make sure he was present if I wanted to go back. Unfortunately, no matter how careful a pizzeria is, if it’s a shared kitchen with gluten, it’s the hardest food (in my opinion) to keep from getting cross contaminated. I will not risk going back here again.

Owner knows the needs of Celiac diners well. Conscientious staff and some pretty darn good pizza. GF pies are sold as full pies, unlike the non-GF offerings by the customer-chosen slice.

Gf loves it here and I can’t complain the gluten free pizzas are good
I ordered a gluten free pizza with vegan cheese yesterday and unfortunately I had a bad reaction. I noticed another reviewer mentioned they too had a reaction after ordering a pizza with vegan cheese too, so wonder if this could be the issue.
Very good GF pizza (pie). The pizza was ready quite fast. Warm and cranchi.
Didn’t even eat here but noticed there is a review citing use of a Nima detector. Those devices can return false positives, they are useful in the fact that if it shows no gluten, you can be positive that there is none, but if it says there is none, there is a chance that there is no gluten present. It takes an estimated 10ppm for a celiac to get sick and it is highly unlikely that enough gluten stayed on her hand. She likely got sick from something else. In summary, don’t judge a place by the Nima sensor as it has been shown to yield 20% false positive.

Beautiful gluten free pizza so many options and brilliant service :-) They also have fantastic gluten free chocolate brownies and also sold gluten free cookies. I would highly recommend. One very happy customer.

I went here for the first time a couple weeks ago. I have celiac disease so I wasn't super sure about going there but there was good reviews on the findmeglutenfree app so I figured I would try it. When I got there Erika and Sophia answered all my questions and told me how the gluten free pizza was made in a different area. The whole experience and the two employees I interacted with was great! Most importantly the pizza was safe and yummy! I will definitely be back again!

Quality service with a wide variety of gluten free options available. There’s even gluten alcohol such as GF beer. A little pricey but worth it.

Delicious! And safe! Extremely knowledgeable about celiac and cross contamination. So many good pizza toppings and they have glutenberg!
Yes
Great and quick pizza. They can make any pizza for you and will even let you do a half and half topping. They have GF cook books behind the counter and GF magazines along the wall

Great gluten free pizza. Owner noticed my gluten free pizza and Glutenberg beer and gave me a brownie to complete the lunch. Brownie was great too.

Went to order online and the system was down-so called and placed an order. When the pizza got here prices on the website were wrong and I was charged around $5 more for my items and then had to scramble to get a tip. GF Chicken pizza was pretty good, pepperoni pizza was okay (a bit dry) and the salad was a ton of onions and peppers with a few lettuce leaves and tomatoes...

I’ve eaten here a few times now and the experience is always great. The first time we went, the staff was so careful and thorough explaining to us the processes for gluten free food. I felt very safe with their pizza prep and they are very knowledgeable. We also met the owner, who is himself gluten free, and when I complimented the pizza, he gave us a free gluten free brownie. They also offer gf beer. We’ve been back a few times for more pizza, a grilled cheese, and another brownie. They have stacks of gf books on the counter and a gf membership which gets you 10% off each gluten free order. The membership is $5 but it goes to the Celiac association. I feel very comfortable here and the food is great!

Very gluten free friendly and the pizza is delicious.
The owner came out and visited with us, told us how he prepares the pizzas and sandwiches (very safe). He has a gluten intolerance himself even. The cookies and brownies were also great. I got the fresh cubed pizza. MUST GO!

Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the gf crust is great. They also have vegan cheese options.

Very delicious GF pizza. The owner Jeff was incredibly hospitable and shared his story with my family and I. I'd give this place 6 stars out of 5 if I could!

Gluten free pizzas are made fresh to avoid cross contamination. I didn’t feel good after eating, but I don’t think it was gluten as it only lasted a few hours and I sometimes react to dairy, so I think it must have been the cheese
Both of our daughters are Celiac and this is their favorite pizza - get the fresh cubed. Friendly and knowledgable staff, games for the kids to play while you wait and non-GF options.
Yes
Very easy to satisfy the gluten free (and dairy free) and the wheat eaters. Nice gf beer and cider collection. The staff was friendly and helpful! (The owner is GF!)
Amazing! Very knowledgeable staff with great knowledge of celiac safe eating! Pizza was amazing! Owner has celiac too! Nice guy!

Delicious, good variety and safe. The half and half pie with red eye/spinach & ricotta is my favorite. I eat here every time I'm downtown. They even have wrapped cookies, brownies and marshmallows to satisfy your sweet tooth. Go there, now, you won't regret it.
Dedicated to get us gluten and dairy free pizza. Owner has celiac and very friendly. I have been looking for a great place to get pizza in NYC and now have found it! My husband and I split a gluten free pizza with vegan cheese. We both got different toppings. Thrilled and thankful! Don’t miss this gem of a place in the heart of the City.

Owner is GF and they make the pizzas separately. I've eaten here several times with no issues!

Was treated great from the minute I walked in. I informed the staff of my gluten allergy, the owner came over and gave me his recommendation. He was the kindest man I have ever met. He gave me a gluten free brownie for free, which was so delicious that I bought 3 more and a cookie. The pizza was made to order, brought directly to me, and I felt safe eating it. The quality was phenomenal and I have absolutely no grievances. I hope to get into NYU so that I can come back often.

Consistently amazing and never gotten sick from their food. Highly recommend!

They know about cross contamination and bake the Gluten Free pizza separately and don't put them in display next to the "normal" pizza which you can choose by the pound. For the gluten free one you can choose a lot of different toppings, also vegan and vegetarian options from a menu . One can also choose two different ones and make a "half and half" pizza. Crust is thin and crispy ,they also have Gluten Free dessert. 4 stars because I prefer thicker crust but it was delicious !

One of the best GF pizzas I've ever had.
Yes
I had a wonderful experience at PIE. While confirming whether the GF pizza was cross contamination free, the owner happened to be walking past and we had a lovely conversation. We both have celiac disease and he gave me a free brownie :)
