I have been to the restaurant multiple times without any problems and fantastic service. However, my most recent visit was a disaster. The staff was incredibly rude and although there was a line out the door of people waiting to be seated, they continued to talk and eat in the food preparation area of the kitchen. Our appetizer never came out and the food came out cold and poorly made. On top of this, for some reason the manager felt the need to take his belt completely off in the kitchen...in full view of the guests. Even though I have eaten here multiple times without getting sick, the unprofessionalism and disgusting kitchen behavior of this last visit was so horrible that I and my friends will never return. On top of this, seeing how the food was prepared gives me significant reason to doubt the safety and the risk of cross contamination. It is so disappointing to see such a fantastic restaurant have these issues. If you are going to risk trying this restaurant, don't go during non lunch or dinner hours (we went during a weekday afternoon) as it clearly isn't their best staff.

Amazing yummy burger options with a good gluten free hamburger roll. My only disappointment was that even though they have many "gluten free" foods (like fries and chicken tenders) there are cross contamination issues with shared fryers. Therefore none of the fried foods were actually safe for me to eat. Plan B could really benefit from adding a dedicated gluten free fryer for their truly gluten free customers!

Convenient location to all museums. These were, without any doubt, the best burgers we've ever eaten. The staff was very knowledgeable and they have a GF menu with tons of choice. All the food was amazing (we tried the blue cheese burger, Tavern burger and naked burger) and the staff were really friendly and attentive. We'd go back in a heartbeat.

this place makes a good effort to cater to allergies. the manager came to our table and let me know that things are fried all together. however, I didn't think that meant things on the gluten free menu. it's billed as celiac friendly and their chicken tenders, which are on the gluten free menu, are not 100% gluten free. this is not celiac friendly.

We had lunch here on a quick trip to Washington today. This place gets it! My son and I have Celiac and the menu here was extensive, well done, and explained perfectly by the host. All the way down to a separate fryer and clean surfaces for food prep. A great GF dining experience.

I have never felt safer at a restaurant (I have Celiac). They took great care to make sure to share how they handle gluten free food in the kitchen. Designated fryers! Best burger I have ever had. So nice to just enjoy the company instead of worrying about the safety of my food. I will be back the next time I'm in town!!

When you ask for a gluten free menu, it is delivered to your table by the manager, who then explains the separate fryer. The GF burger bun is delicious, the good is amazing, AND they even bring out the GF good separately from other good your party may have ordered. Amazing experience. I felt a little like royalty instead of like the pain in the rump I usually feel like. I wish I lived in DC, so I could eat here all the time.

My son has celiac disease, he does not get any symptoms when he is exposed to gluten... so we judge places on their knowledge and procedures for handling food. Our waiter was able to answer all our questions and made us comfortable in ordering the gluten free options for my son. The hamburger roll was the best gluten free roll my son ever had.. he couldn't even fit it into his mouth it was so big unlike most flat cardboard ones!

This restaurant couldn't have been more accommodating to our wheat and soy allergies. So nice and took the time to be sure we had what we needed. Bonus to have fantastic burgers! Gluten free buns. Used olive oil to sauté but soy oil for frying which limited the menu slightly but they were happy to sub out the fries with sautéed kale which was awesome. Highly recommend and conveniently located to smithsonian, near national archives museum. FYI- cafeteria in American History museum was not as friendly.

They were fantastic when it came to accommodating me for a gluten-free dinner. They have a separate GF menu and as soon as I told the server I needed a GF meal, he noted it on the order. After ordering, the manager came out and asked if I wanted my burger cooked in a separate pan or on the grill with the others. I went for the separate pan, had a GF bun and the tomato/cucumber salad (anything in the fryer is not GF because of cross-contamination). The GF menu said they had Bard's GF beer, but they actually only had Omission. I opted for Angry Orchard instead (they also had Woodchuck on tap). Overall, it was a great experience and I'd definitely go back.

Very yummy burgers, knowledgable manager, and very nice staff. The reason I give it three stars is because: -We waited for 15 minutes for the waiter to acknowledge us after being seated. -They were out of gluten free buns! So disappointing when that's the only reason we went there. If I wanted to have to eat a patty with a fork and knife I could have done that anywhere. Nonetheless the ultimate cheeseburger was AMAZING but would have been even better if I could have tried it with a bun. They have dedicated fryers and use these to guarantee a safe meal. They also have gf breaded foods that are made with rice flour. I would definitely try this place again just call ahead to make sure they have gf product in stock.

The gluten free menu is fairly limited, but it includes most of the burger choices and a variety of toppings for them, and chicken and salmon burgers. Most of the green foods on the menu are organic, the meat is verified all-natural, and the flourless chocolate cake with white chocolate filling is flat-out dangerous. The beef is VERY good quality beef, ground fresh every day AT the restaurant. The staff also understands the difference between gluten free choice and gluten free necessity, and they ASK you which it is. Very impressive.

I tend to always get the same thing when I go - the burger salad - but that's because its delicious. I get it with the fries & bacon (shared fryer) but I'm sure it'd be quite tasty without for high sensitivity eaters. They're burgers are yummy & they use Udi's brand gf rolls which are excellent. Manager has always personally come to ask us if we have an allergy or if gf is just our preference; this puts us at ease & shows that they care.
