They have GF bread as an option. But the hostess that seated us stated the GF sandwiches are prepared on the same station as all others. Our waitress even admitted that Rein’s shouldn’t bother offering GF bread because it doesn’t benefit anyone with Celiac Disease (it might not be an issue if you’re not a Celiac but are just “gluten sensitive”)… So here it is in summary: Rein’s does have great food. If you’re a true Celiac you’ll be limited to salads only, as sandwiches are just not worth the risk based on their own statements. Food generally is 4 stars… For Celiacs Rein’s is a “go somewhere else” disappointment.

UPDATE: I haven’t eaten here since Covid - but I’ve stopped in multiple times asking when they’d re-open their dedicated gf station and go back to their celiac safe methods. They have no interest. Sad because it was my go-to. 😭

One of my favorites. Dedicated gf food prep area. Very cautious you can watch your food be made, Gf bagels or Rye-less Rye sandwiches & potato salad delicious. They also sell gf products including the rolls and Katz gf items . Call ahead to place order! They are always packed!!!!

I used to eat at Rein’s all the time, but post Covid not only has their space gone away, their processes to mark things gluten free/their awareness as a staff seems to have significantly degraded. After ordering a gluten free white bread Reuben (not toasted), I was served a gluten Reuben. Will be sick for days.

Use to love this place but ate there today and got contaminated. The waitress was well versed in celiac needs but there is no longer a dedicated space for gluten free. They do have a small well stocked freezer case of certified GF food. I will not go back unless I bring my Nima tester with me.

I used to eat here all the time. Since COVID-19, I am so sad that I can no longer eat here because there is no longer safe food for celiacs. This means my family also won’t be eating here either. Please consider going back to your dedicated small space for celiacs

Had gluten free rye bread, they made sure not to toast it with the other breads. Most likely not the safest for celiac but okay for gluten sensitive. The sandwich was really good, I bet you could just ask them to be extra sensitive and they will.

They informed me that they closed their dedicated gf section and have no dedicated gf equipment. No longer safe for celiacs. I asked them to not toast or make it on shared equipment if they could. They repeated the order and still made the it wrong. When I asked just to confirm it was the right sandwich, since it wasn’t what I ordered. They confirmed it was gf bagel without even looking or checking. No way I trust they gave me the correct sandwich. Sorry if this place used to be safe, it is no longer safe.

Amazing gluten free experience. I am ultra sensitive and in our chat with our knowledgeable waitress she said magic words like separate space, equipment, gf training, etc. In addition, the food was absolutely delicious! Posting through hubby’s account. He is not gf.

My 9 yo son who has celiac loves this restaurant! It's a good 30 minute drive but he asks to stop whenever we come home from MA. What he really enjoys is that he can get a GF sandwich and really good. Plenty of GF take out options available also (pies, bagels, donuts, etc).

A nice place with a gluten free menu. they off bagels, sandwiches, sides, and deserts. for our safety there are NO substitutions. allegedly a gluten free prep area, I wasn't in a position to verify during my visit. had the bagel cream cheese and lox, it was good. run of the mill dense gf bagel, didn't fall apart but wasn't amazing. The place was packed and busy, stressful. However the waitress knew about gluten and even offered me a book of all of their ingredients. they get all of their gf goods from local gf bakeries. the takeout fish and meats are fantastic, which is worth the whole third star. I have had no ill effect from the place. it's worth a visit, and I might go again. wouldn't go out of my way for it though

tl;dr - stressful but in the end alright. limited gluten free menu. good bagel. would visit again.

after writing the review 4 stars became 3 stars. there lox bagels are awesome but the menu is verrrrry limited. if you are actually hungry there's nothing other than the salmon bagels. muffins are always blueberry but of course delicious and from n.g. variety would be nice for wannabe regular customers. I don't go here anymore. I mean how hard is it to designate one grill area to g.f. eggs? a and yes overpriced for g.f and non g.f

Only ok. Breakfast servers are inconsistent with what is prepared safely and what cannot be cooked on the grill. Ex: first time they told me they could grill the gf bagel and all was fine, the next time they said they could not. But they will do grilled cheese? Confusing and risky.

GF Menu is small but the food is delicious. The GF bread is made locally from Natures Grocer and it's better than anything you can buy in the store. They also have GF products in the fridge. I had a heaping turkey sandwich and a side of potato salad and I was very satisfied. I do however find them over priced. For two adults and one toddler it cost $45.

An absolute treat, not to be missed. Legendary authentic New York deli, with a long gluten-free menu and probably the best cooking/prep practices I've found outside dedicated facilities. Their pastrami on "rye" will make you forget you ever missed gluten-containing foods.
