For Texas, this was a disappointing restaurant. Lots of other options, but I’d recommend avoiding it.

Servers unfamiliar with gf and brought out flour tortillas instead of corn after ordering corn tortilla tacos. Wasn’t that good tasting either

Symptomatic Celiac

There’s no clear indication of what’s gluten-free (aside from the obvious inferences one can make about corn vs. flour) and there seem to be no clear understanding, concern or protocols around cross-contamination. I’ve spoken to several wait staff on separate occasions (I won’t eat here, but I sit with friends) and the consistent impression I get is that they don’t truly understand what gluten-free means for celiacs in particular. I’m not sure on what basis the earlier reviewer considered it safe.

I truly don't understand how folks can give them a positive rating and say they're celiac friendly while simultaneously saying that the staff is ignorant of what gluten is, let alone what proper gluten-free protocols are. WTH?

Gluten Intolerant

I get it: there’s a pandemic and we don’t want to eat out. But, eating outside is possible. Having said that, the server didn’t realize at first that cheese and sour cream are GF!! Nothing on the menu made me feel secure eating here. Then he promised me he could make grilled shrimp tacos in corn tortillas. So, I went with it. They were tasty and I did not get sick!!!! I also had a gin and tonic, which tasted refreshing in the heat of Dallas. Juan Gonzalez is an excellent server.

N/A

Must explain to servers that gluten is in wheat flour, malt vinegar etc, and it’s not a dairy allergy.

No GF menu, but waitress was clearly aware and advised the kitchen. Steer clear of the flour tortillas and it should be fine (except for the ultra-sensitive. Food and margaritas were great!

Chips are not gf. Not sure the staff understands everything about Gluten. I asked if the taco meat was gf and the answer was that it was not. When I asked why I was given a list of perfectly harmless vegetables as the reason why. I did order the steak fajitas which are not marinated so they were fine. Chicken are marinated however. What I did order was delicious
