HEADS UP! Upon arriving on 8/17/14, our server told us that the reason they are no longer offering a GF menu is because the kitchen has been reconfigured and GF can't be prepared without cross contamination. If you have celiac or are gluten-sensitive, be aware.
GF pasta with sauce, big salads, &wine!
This was great. I was skeptical because of the reviews on here but I'm happy I gave it a shot. I'm not only gluten free, but also dairy free, and my waiter made sure every time he came over with a serving that he mentioned my food didn't have any gluten or dairy in it. I ordered the gluten free pasta and it was so delicious I almost didn't believe it was gluten free! So I asked where it was from and my waiter sent over the manager. He came over and assured me they use separate pots of water as well as separate pots in general specifically set aside for gluten free pasta. (Even though I didn't ask) He also wasn't sure exactly how I could buy the pasta despite telling me the brand because they buy in bulk, but told me I can buy it through them if I give them notice, and gave me a great price. It was a great experience and I will definitely be returning!
Although The menu refutes any liability for allergies, the order taker assured us that every action would be taken to ensure no cross-contamination. When I arrived to pick up my to go order I checked with the waiter and he double checked with the whole staff that handled my food that gloves were changed separate utensil separate pots were used. I haven't been this ill from "GF" food in months. I will NEVER go back there.
Ordered gluten free noodles and received regular noodles! Had to ask for it to be re-made. Server didn't care or recognize they weren't gluten free. Service wasn't great. They don't guarantee the noodles and dishes are safe and they aren't knowledgeable or safe when it comes to making and serving the dishes.
The North Olmstead (Ohio) location is excellent for celiacs if you can forego the bread offered to everyone else. They have a true gf pasta dish every day, and you can add chicken or vegetables. The red sauce is gf but they have to make you gf white sauce, which takes some extra time, so tell them as soon as you get there if you will want white sauce. They have always made it for me. The staff is very knowledgeable about cross contamination and honest if they need to find out the answer to a question for you. I have never been sick from eating there and the food is amazing.
I called ahead and spoke with a manager about their gluten free options. He was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. He told me all about their gluten free pasta which is made and transported from Italy! When I got to the restaurant, the hard part was watching my husband eat the delicious bread without me. By far the worst part of gluten free Italian eating. :( I placed the order with the waiter and she seemed competent in preventing cross contamination. Then came the pasta. It changes from time to time but currently they have a thin fettuccine type noodle that's not actually fettuccine. I ordered the chicken "fettuccine" alfredo plate. It was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Seriously, I cannot stop thinking about it a month later. You could not tell if was gluten free pasta! I have no idea how they managed this but it is truly a miracle. And I didn't get sick so it passed the test. The manager that I had spoken with on the phone even came out and pulled up a chair while we were eating, just to tell me a little more about the pasta and the company that makes it. Service was above and beyond excellent. This will be our go-to for Italian food. If you can just get past the bread portion of the evening without losing your mind! :(
Ask for Gary... Very well knowledgeable on GF. I always get their Carmen's Chicken with GF fettucine. So good!! Must must try!!
Gluten free pasta is back and the staff is knowledgable and careful. Have celiac and did not get sick after eating create your own pasta with chicken and veggies and Caesar salad minus the croutons. Only downside is it's not on the menu so be prepared to talk to waiter/waitress for a bit.

I ordered a 2 kid sized gf Mac n cheese on one plate. I got almost what I ordered I got 2 kid sized mac n cheese but it was not gluten free. I got trebly sick and my father called the restaurant and it was the waiters fault and he did not write or punch in gluten free. The waiter was also fired right after the phone call but I found out right away well not right away after few bites of pasta I was told and left instantly and got sick 3-5 hours later for 10 hours straight!!!
Looked on line for somewhere to eat gluten free for lunch. Website said that any pasta menu item could be made with gluten free pasta. Okay-excited at this point. I am a true celiac so I cannot have gluten at all. Went in and asked about gluten free. NOT!! They do not have a gluten free menu and they do not have gluten free pasta. The bartender came over and told me what was gluten free. Their potatoes even have gluten. Since I am also allergic to seafood there was really nothing for me to eat but a salad. Don't get me wrong I like salad but I was looking forward to pasta since this is what they advertise. They need to update their website. I won't go back nor will I recommend them to anyone. Just being honest and upfront would have made a lot of difference. If they truly stopped serving gluten free they have had time to update the website.
I loved going here but they only have a few things that are gluten free now since they no longer offer the pasta gluten free.
I was very disappointed. Last time I came I had my choice of pasta dishes. This most recent visit I was informed that they had discontinued their GF menu. Why would a chain restaurant take such a step backwards? I basically was limited to steak, chicken or fish with no starches as a side because not even their potatoes could be made gluten free (SERIOUSLY?!?!). The manager did say they were looking into reintroducing GF pasta. I guess until then I will head to the Cheesecake Factory or Olive Garden instead.
THEY ARE NO LONGER GLUTEN FREE!! I recently went to dinner with my wife at Macaroni Grill (June 2015). To our surprise we were told that the restaurant has discontinued their gluten free menu and no longer provides any safe items. As a diagnosed Celiac that has been a patron of Macaroni Grill for several years, I was disappointed. I recently went back another day to politely speak with a manager in hopes I might learn their reasons for discontinuing the GF menu. I was told that they were not in the business of catering to "fads"!! I was dismissed as if I was an annoyance and health / safety was a fad. I will never again give my business to this establishment regardless of whether the GF menu returns!!
NO gluten free options. Do not go here if you have Celiac disease or any gluten sensitivity.
We did not know they had discontinued their gluten free menu until after we ordered and had waited 15 minutes. The waitress came back and said we don't offer Gluten free pasta anymore and had no options. We were getting up to leave when the manager said they could make a steak and unseasoned vegetables. Expensive and not very good.
They stopped serving GF pasta AND got rid of the GF menu, that's why I gave only four stars because it could be easier and you have to be lucky with the knowledge of your server. But I was lucky! She knew what I could have and created a new meal for me: Diavola Scaloppine - chicken breast, spicy tomato sauce and instead of the four cheese ravioli I got broccoli and Parmesan potatoes. It was really, really good and I didn't have issues afterwards. Will be back!
Hostess said no more gluten-free menu. The gluten-free noodles have gone away temporarily. The waitress says it will be back in a month or two. This is a good thing because the gluten-free noodles were not the best anyway. Tonight, I got the cremini pork shank and asked for extra mushrooms. It was a lot of food that two people could share and the sauce is completely gluten free. It was so tender and just fell off the bone; Reminds me of a gourmet pot roast. That was an amazing meal! My son got the calebrese sirloin steak and it was cooked perfectly and also gluten-free. If ordering that steak, get a different side than the potatoes as they are not gluten-free.
Usually very good, but twice now we have ordered gluten free pasta and the chef has had to come out and tell us that they did not have it on those particular days. Without the pasta, there really isn't that much for gf people, so this was very disappointing. We'll probably go back again, but not without calling them first to make sure they have the gf pasta.
I'm baffled as to why so many have such high stars for this place. they do not have any kind of a gf menu and both the host and waitress seemed to know nothing about Gluten free. I was really looking forward to going here but was thoroughly disappointed.
Walked in last night and asked the greeter for a gluten free menu and was told they did not have a gluten free menu nor gluten free options available. Very Very disappointed since the Romano's near us does have a gluten free menu and caters well to celiacs. Hoping this was just a very untrained (new) person but could not take chance and we dined elsewhere.
I'd give them 0 stars if I could. We mentioned at the host stand needing gluten free menus and there was no help until it was time to order and then they were unable to accommodate.
Mom and I had the Chicken Milanese and the Veal dish and they were both delicious. our server was very well educated about allergies and very friendly. Apparently the company has stopped serving GF pasta after only a six month trial, but I never heard any advertisement about it in the first place.
Used to love having gluten free pasta. Liability issues reported by staff the reason for getting rid of allergy menu items. I went with out and we will not return. HUGE MISTAKE to the new owners of the chain. It is time to improve food services not tell the world "our food is not safe to everyone in the world with any type of food allergy." Good luck with your customer service model.
