If I could rate this place -1 or so, that's what it would be. This place, though it has gluten free options. It's not great :-( and the service is horrible unfortunately. You come here at your own risk! Don't go
You have to tell them to use clean water. They reuse boiled water for their pasta. Then before you eat, ask them if the water was clean. They are usually very good. Found regular pasta 1x at bottom of my bowl. Got the whole tables meals for free plus a $50 gift card to come back. They were very sorry.
They have a GF / Allergen menu and the waiter listened to our requests and assured us it would be taken care of. But I found wheat pasta in my GF pasta which meant they cooked mine in regular pasta water. To be fair, it was Saturday night. Might give them another chance.
Came here on 1/23/15; they no longer have gluten free options.
As of today they do not have the Gluten-Free Penne pasta; they were not able to inform us of whether they will be getting more or not, but they continue to advertise it as a product.
They no longer have gluten free pasta. I was so excited to go there until I found out they stopped carrying it. I had the Bibb & bleu salad and the prosciutto and mozzarella appetizer, and everything was delicious, so as long as you don't have your heart set on pasta, you'll be happy!
Macaroni grill has stopped serving gf pasta so they decided to stop offering a gf menu. instead I got an outdated allergen menu and a rude look from the hostess. I expressed my worries to the waiter about the menu only partially matching the allergen menu, and he said, "I'm pretty sure the recipe hadn't changed for those things.". I went with it and had no problems, but the service was awful and the food was mediocre and cold.
I have been here several times, and depending on the staff helping you depends on your service! Some are very knowledgable while others are not, but their GF pasta is excellent, and I have never been sick as a result of eating here! Hopefully their staff becomes more knowledgable and then I will give them 5 stars!
Terrible experience! Friendly staff but no understanding that ceoeliacs CANNOT have gluten. They brought an allergy list menu. We made our choices and then they said that they had no gluten free pasta but could have the sauce with spinach instead. Hmmm. No. Apparently the manager was out at the supermarket and GF pasta was on her list. I also noticed that there was no GF pizza. If you're going to buy supermarket GF pasta, why not sling a couple of GF pizza bases in the freezer too? We left. One star for actually having a list at all.
I love the honest opinions of the wait staff. Last Sunday I inquired about the gluten free pasta and she said that they were down to about two helpings left in the kitchen and she wouldn't recommend it. (Curious that they don't cook it to order, or at least that was the impression I was given). So I had a steak, potatoes, broccoli and salad. It was a good choice. Cooked exactly how I like it.
No longer has a Gluten Free menu, but does have GF build your own pasta. Service was okay.
Excellent service. Staff was very knowledgable about their gluten free options and it has always tasted fabulous. Had an issue once with under cooked pasta, but it was corrected immediately, and the manager was fantastic about it!! This is our go to for Italian!!!
They no longer offer gluten free pasta and claimed that "corporate" made the change "in the last week." I now see a month-old comment on this site stating that they discontinued the gluten free pasta then. Hmmm. Seems like corporate should have had time to take their name off of sites like this. They were accommodating to make our food according to our food restrictions but they do not have separate menus for dietary restrictions nor a chart showing what is in the meals. You have to rely on your waitron for quality control.
This place used to have gluten free pasta and a gluten free menu and they do not any more...the waitress said something about issues with cross contamination at other locations so I appreciate them looking out for my safety but I specifically came here for the pasta so I'm super disappointed. Basically you can have a salad or fish here. This makes me sad.
A full allergy menu is available - have gluten free pasta. I only give it 4 stars because I ordered a salad and they put croutons on it. They took it back no problem. Very good service. Lots of GF options. I have other food sensitivities and their menu was very versatile.
The allergen menu is a big help in details. It has become a great indulgence for us on weekends. The soup special, clam chowder, is my husband's favorite of all! As gluten sensitive as my husband is, he has no problem to enjoy the food he ordered at the location. The service is friendly awesome mostly, however, you might want to avoid Dave's tables if you could.
Not impressed. Food was so so. When I ordered GF pasta the server said: "That will be an extra wait to get, would you like whole wheat pasta instead?" YIKES! Clear misunderstanding of what GF eating means. Really made me nervous for the rest of my meal! Food was just okay. Not bad by any means but nothing fantastic.
general mgr very knowledgeable, including about safe wines (staff trained for food but not wine-if you are very sensitive like me). take many precautions including separate dishes, cookware and serveware..its the most comfortable I will ever be with someone else making my food.
HEADS UP! Upon arriving on 8/17/14, our server told us that the reason they are no longer offering a GF menu is because the kitchen has been reconfigured and GF can't be prepared without cross contamination. If you have celiac or are gluten-sensitive, be aware.
