I went to this restaurant back in April and ha a wonderful experience so I was completely shocked with how horribly I was treated the second time I went. Apparently they think it's a great idea to have their food allergy patrons use their own phones and phone plans to download their menu. It took me thirty minutes to pull up the menu alone to then be told by our server, "Oh we could have given you an iPad with the menu all loaded up already." Why oh why would you do such a thing. My night just got worse from there. I calmed down and ordered a burger with a gluten free bun. I ate about half of the burger when I bit in and almost chipped a tooth. The roll was completely stale on one side and completely inedible. I complained to their corporate office and all I got back some generic message about making sure to tell your server about your allergy.
Servers were very knowledgable and nice. They have a menu for any kind of allergy. The ribs and GF sides were very good.
The food was very good, but the burgers were not cooked to order. The service was friendly, but the kitchen messed up my groups order twice. They gave me French fries, which I cannot have, instead of the mashed potatoes I asked for. There is a menu for ALL food allergies.
I asked to see their GF menu and they only had one copy so I had to wait 15 minutes while the other patron used it. Really? One copy? It's just a sheet of printer paper folks. Menu is limited and wait staff knowledge varies.
as a vegan with a gluten allergy, ruby Tuesday does have one dish that is quite good. the spagetti squash marinara was the only thing on menu I could eat but it was enjoyable. I gave 3 stars because waiter could have been more sensitive when he waved the cheddar biscuits under my gluten free nose. as gluten allergies become more understood, I hope they add more items to menu and possibly a dessert.
Waitress was well informed of GF needs. She brought me their allergy book to review and communicated with the chef about my needs. I had the Salmon with a baked potato and salad bar. Need to be careful with the salad bar and cross contamination but I had no problems. Good was very good.
Tried it a few times. I don't always feel great after and haven't been able to figure out why. I've had the salmon with baked potato. Last time I asked for gf bbq sauce to try and help the plain salmon. The staff tries to be helpful and the manager always comes to the table.
Scary! I went there with my family. Two of four are celiac. The waitress had no idea what gluten was, so I explained in detail and requested the kitchen change their gloves, use clean utensils and prepare our food in a separate area. We waited thirty five minutes and when our burgers arrived on their gf rolls, they were smothered in fries which were clearly marked as not gf on the menu. I notified the waitress who said the manager handled our order, so I requested she send him over. He had no idea what I was talking about. . We left having had no lunch. I would not take the chance there again!
SUPERB excellent GF menu and as a matter of policy when the wait staff takes the order, the manager personally came to my table and verified my gluten allergy and helped me with menu selections. And to top it all off the food was exquisite. I enjoyed the salad bar, jumbo shrimp and loaded baked potatoe! My waiter Darrell gave fantastic customer service and was very attentive & manager great as well.
They have an allergens menu as opposed to a gluten free menu, but it had some good options. I talked with the waitress about my Celiac, and she took it very seriously. After she put our orders in she came back and told me she talked with the kitchen about cleaning the grill for my steak. She said the kitchen acknowledged they knew exactly what to do. She also mentioned later that they started carrying gluten free buns. Food was good; my only slight complaint was that service was a little slow which wouldn't have been noticed if we hadn't been so hungry!
Ate here last week and was pleasantly surprised. Had the petite sirloin with loaded baked potato and salad bar. They have a book of allergens and it was very easy to select gluten free option. They did mess up the wellness of my steak but did make another one that was better.
I ordered grilled salmon with plain broccoli and cheese grits. The grits came "loaded" with lots of bacon. I do not eat pork (or any meat that's not fish). They only would give me another plate of grits, not the whole meal, so I kept finding bits of bacon everywhere on the other food. When I expressed discomfort because I didn't know of the bacon was contaminated through the grill they cooked it on, the manager brought the menu back and showed me that bacon was indeed on the safe list. Really, they should have just prepared me an entire new meal, but they ignored my obvious distress. Not the best experience, all around.
WOW! Nice variety on the gluten free/wheat free menu. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, even taking care to bring my plate out at the same time, but separately from the meals of my dining companions. the food was delicious and service wonderful. I was able to simply enjoy a safe, delicious meal while visiting with family.
If 0 stars were an option that would be what I would have given this place. First of all they brought out an allergen list instead of a gluten-free menu. Many of the items said no cheese and then some of the items listed didn't specify that you had to order without cheese, even though it had cheese on it. The waitress was not very knowledgeable about celiacs disease or why you would order gluten free. I decided not to order and go somewhere else.
My wife ordered a plain burger with no bun no fries and explained she needed it GF. They brought her a burger with a bun not once but twice. Even after they brought it wrong the first time and we told them she couldn't eat Gluten, they did it again. Don't trust this place
Very good service, our waiter made the manager come to the table and made sure everything was ok and talked to the chef so there was no cross contamination
I was very pleased with the response from the staff when I informed them of my inability to tolerate any amount of gluten. Not only was I given a specific allergen menu, the manager came to my table to discuss with me the fact that my food will be prepared in a dedicated allergen free area of the kitchen.
They do not have a lot gluten free options.
manager and chef came to double check that the ingredients would all be ok, and were able to suggest alternative ingredients and cooking methods for anything that might be problematic. I am not celiac, so I hesitate to say they are celiac friendly, but I would feel confident eating here.
DO NOT EAT at the Danville, Virginia location if you have Celiacs disease!!!! My two celiac children ordered from the GF menu, the waitress confirmed our order before placing it, when it arrived we asked TWICE... These hamburger buns are GF right? Waitress confirmed the hour her buns are GF! My kids each took two bites. Immediately they knew the buns were regular. I took a bite... The buns were wheat! We called the manager over who confirmed the buns were wheat buns!!!!!!! Now our family is 6 hours from our destination and I have two sick kids on my hands! This restaurant is negligent and derelict! They comped is the bull but does us no good. Never will eat at this chain again!!!!
Went to eat there with the family and were told they were "testing a menu item" and no allergen information on "anything." Needless to say, we left.
After ordering off the gluten free menu and reminding the waitress that the food needed to be cooked separately, the manager came over and asked if I really had an allergy because it was a big deal for them to use special utensils and pans. The food was cold, over salted and still made me sick. Won't be returning!
I enjoyed my meal very much. I had the chicken fresco. You just can not have the lemon seasoning on it but it says that in their gluten free menu. I also got broccoli and a loaded baked potato. I felt fine after! Will come back again!
Very limited selection, limited knowledge in the wait staff (if any), and the waitress we had was very dismissive of my issues. Did not acknowledge when I stated I needed them to be cautious with my meal, barely acknowledged my existence at the table after that, and as I'm writing this review, I'm fairly sure I've been glutened. Alas, no zero star available.
