I went to this restaurant back in April and ha a wonderful experience so I was completely shocked with how horribly I was treated the second time I went. Apparently they think it's a great idea to have their food allergy patrons use their own phones and phone plans to download their menu. It took me thirty minutes to pull up the menu alone to then be told by our server, "Oh we could have given you an iPad with the menu all loaded up already." Why oh why would you do such a thing. My night just got worse from there. I calmed down and ordered a burger with a gluten free bun. I ate about half of the burger when I bit in and almost chipped a tooth. The roll was completely stale on one side and completely inedible. I complained to their corporate office and all I got back some generic message about making sure to tell your server about your allergy.
Servers were very knowledgable and nice. They have a menu for any kind of allergy. The ribs and GF sides were very good.
The food was very good, but the burgers were not cooked to order. The service was friendly, but the kitchen messed up my groups order twice. They gave me French fries, which I cannot have, instead of the mashed potatoes I asked for. There is a menu for ALL food allergies.
I asked to see their GF menu and they only had one copy so I had to wait 15 minutes while the other patron used it. Really? One copy? It's just a sheet of printer paper folks. Menu is limited and wait staff knowledge varies.
as a vegan with a gluten allergy, ruby Tuesday does have one dish that is quite good. the spagetti squash marinara was the only thing on menu I could eat but it was enjoyable. I gave 3 stars because waiter could have been more sensitive when he waved the cheddar biscuits under my gluten free nose. as gluten allergies become more understood, I hope they add more items to menu and possibly a dessert.
Always receive a good gluten free meal here. I'm not a salad bar person at all. Most cases I avoid them. Ruby's however is one I do eat at. They always have good selections and keep all gluten items far away from the non gluten items. Staff usually is friendly, but I have had slow service in past.
They do have gluten free buns for their delicious burgers but you have to be careful. I ordered one previously and it was fine--no consequences. The second time I went I was about to bite in the sandwhich and thought "this bun looks the same as everyone else's". They had given me a regular bun! They did remake my entire plate of food, but the manager didn't even apologize. Just threw the new plate down, says "I hear we have an allergy at this table" and walked off.
For being diagnosed with celiac's disease for over 6 years, Ruby Tuesday's is one of the worst experiences yet. After the server confirmed she not only understood the requirements for keeping the food gluten free but also telling us that her friend had celiac's disease, I was served a burger with a big fat bun. Come on this is gluten free 101. The food was sent back and I had to wait for my second entree to come. The second plate was good however hard to eat with so much suspicious.
So after double checking with the management verifying everything and letting me know they are very careful since another patron's gluten free bun came out with flour on it I trusted they could make a salad alright. I was questionable about whatever was on the chicken that looked like soy sauce before even noticing the croutons on the salad. The one star is only because I have to put one for a review.
Extremely slow service. Food is just O.K. I ordered the Mongolian beef, the beef itself was good. The carrots though-- they taste like a baby's toy that's been played with all day and never washed. Would have been 3 stars but they were out of the one gluten free dessert that they have as an option, and so 2/5.
I love the smokey mountain chicken. i get it without bbq sauce and with fresh green beans and a baked potato. We ordered takeout when traveling through because we don't like to leave our dogs alone in the hotel. No gluten issues. They also have gf buns available.
Ordered gluten free chicken sandwich. When my wife's food came out our waitress told us that they put mine " on the wrong bun and are swapping it out now". When she came back I explained the cross contamination and she took it back to the kitchen. When it came back quickly, I really couldn't trust that it was different food on a gluten free bun, so I ordered something completely different. I was offered the salad bar at no cost while I waited for my new order. The gf bun was dry. Waitress was very friendly and nice, but there wasn't a comfort level of safety. This location may need more education beyond their food allergy notebook.
I've eaten here a few times and never had any problems. The ribs are delicious! It'd be nice if they had a real GF menu instead of the allergen menu, but all of the information is there. When I've had questions (because of an outdated allergen menu), the server was willing to check with the kitchen.
Manager came out to assure me they take special steps like using different utensils for the gluten free food. They had also just got gluten free buns in which were pretty good.
I ordered the smoky mountain chicken. For my sides I ordered the spaghetti squash and the zucchini. The chicken was very tender and flavorful. The zucchini and squash were not very warm. They were tasty though. The restaurant does offer an allergen binder. I noticed on the menu that if you ordered a gluten free bun for a burger it was a $1 extra.
I ordered a dish from the gluten free menu and they brought it prepared with the sauce that contains gluten. I asked the waitress about it, she checked with the chef and he said he's not sure if it's gluten free but he thinks it is. The waitress checked the menu and brought out a new order without the sauce. I've been sick for a few days.
We had grown to trust Ruby Tuesday's, and this last visit were thrilled they now had gluten free buns. However they brought my daughter's sandwich out with fries after we told them how badly gluten affected her. When we questioned the waitress about a dedicated fryer, she went to the back to double check and confirmed they fries were safe. My daughter was sick within the hour. It could be a coincidence, but we are now very leery.
Got a hamburger and made sure to ask multiple times if it is gluten free with the waiter ensuring that it was. He was very wrong and had a rough night. I would not recommend anyone with celiac come here.
I have had great success at this location and also found out on my last visit that the manager has Celiac Disease. He personally prepared meals and oversees prep whenever he is on and trains all of the staff on cross contamination and Celiac Disease itself.
Staff informs management of allergy and they double check the items you ordered. Food is good and there are plenty of choices. I have multiple allergies and I can usually find segura things to eat.
Daughter is Gluten intolerant. They brought a binder listed by allergy and the choices of what is available to eat for each allergy. Nice variety of GF options for her to choose from. Waitress was EXTREMELY helpful. She informed me that it would take a few extra minutes for her food to come out because they use separate equipment to prepare the allergy friendly food. Was reassuring. Nice to have good/safe options when eating out.
They actually did a nice job on a recent visit. The manager came out and let us know he would make sure there was no cross contamination. Ordered a cheeseburger on a nice soft GF bun. They do not have GF fries due to a shared fryer, but had a nice baked potato. The manager even used butter from a new container to make sure there was no cross contamination. Very impressed. We will be back.
L went in with my Mom. I am a celiac and I am also allergic to tomatoes. Our waitress let me use the notebook to check which foods were safe then told the manager that I needed a special salad prepared. He made the salad himself and came by several times to check on us. We were so pleased , we came back the next day and ate again!
Waitress was well informed of GF needs. She brought me their allergy book to review and communicated with the chef about my needs. I had the Salmon with a baked potato and salad bar. Need to be careful with the salad bar and cross contamination but I had no problems. Good was very good.
Tried it a few times. I don't always feel great after and haven't been able to figure out why. I've had the salmon with baked potato. Last time I asked for gf bbq sauce to try and help the plain salmon. The staff tries to be helpful and the manager always comes to the table.
Scary! I went there with my family. Two of four are celiac. The waitress had no idea what gluten was, so I explained in detail and requested the kitchen change their gloves, use clean utensils and prepare our food in a separate area. We waited thirty five minutes and when our burgers arrived on their gf rolls, they were smothered in fries which were clearly marked as not gf on the menu. I notified the waitress who said the manager handled our order, so I requested she send him over. He had no idea what I was talking about. . We left having had no lunch. I would not take the chance there again!
SUPERB excellent GF menu and as a matter of policy when the wait staff takes the order, the manager personally came to my table and verified my gluten allergy and helped me with menu selections. And to top it all off the food was exquisite. I enjoyed the salad bar, jumbo shrimp and loaded baked potatoe! My waiter Darrell gave fantastic customer service and was very attentive & manager great as well.
They have an allergens menu as opposed to a gluten free menu, but it had some good options. I talked with the waitress about my Celiac, and she took it very seriously. After she put our orders in she came back and told me she talked with the kitchen about cleaning the grill for my steak. She said the kitchen acknowledged they knew exactly what to do. She also mentioned later that they started carrying gluten free buns. Food was good; my only slight complaint was that service was a little slow which wouldn't have been noticed if we hadn't been so hungry!
Ate here last week and was pleasantly surprised. Had the petite sirloin with loaded baked potato and salad bar. They have a book of allergens and it was very easy to select gluten free option. They did mess up the wellness of my steak but did make another one that was better.
I ordered grilled salmon with plain broccoli and cheese grits. The grits came "loaded" with lots of bacon. I do not eat pork (or any meat that's not fish). They only would give me another plate of grits, not the whole meal, so I kept finding bits of bacon everywhere on the other food. When I expressed discomfort because I didn't know of the bacon was contaminated through the grill they cooked it on, the manager brought the menu back and showed me that bacon was indeed on the safe list. Really, they should have just prepared me an entire new meal, but they ignored my obvious distress. Not the best experience, all around.
WOW! Nice variety on the gluten free/wheat free menu. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, even taking care to bring my plate out at the same time, but separately from the meals of my dining companions. the food was delicious and service wonderful. I was able to simply enjoy a safe, delicious meal while visiting with family.
