Gluten free buns are stale, I'm not usually a fan of chains do to lack of quality of their dishes/fresh Ingredients.
Had a turkey sandwich on gluten free bun, husband had burger with gluten free bun, French fries are fried in same area as everything else so I opted for a side of fruit. My father-in-law had a non-gluten free meal of an egg sandwich and potatoes and loved it.
Thus goes for ALL Ruby's diners. I asked to see a gluten free menu, they brought me out the ingredients listings for all their products. I was shocked to see, listed in big letters, on their burgers, CONTAINS WHEAT. THE BURGERS ARE NOT GLUTEN FREE, EVEN THOUGH THRY OFFER GLUTEN FREE BUNS!!!!!!!
Don't trust your waitress, there is no dedicated fryer... they will swear up and down it's gf dedicated but when you ask for the manager they say it isn't
No dedicated fryer. Gluten free buns, was offered fruit, salad, or coleslaw instead of fries
They have gluten free buns and if you ask will make fries in their own pan to avoid cross- contamination. They also will make shakes separately and hand mix. We visit often and they are always very aware and careful even though they will tell you they can't promise no cross-contamination. My son has never gotten sick and he is extremely sensitive celiac
They have gf buns but said they were prepared on same place everything else is put together
Waitress was knowledgeable and helpful. I stuck with the lettuce wrapped avocado burger & it was fresh and delicious. Did not try fries as I'm leery of any fried food. Good experience!
Wonderful gluten free buns.
Very iffy today which was a shame as before it has been safe. Told by the waitress that their fries were gf, and fried in a separate fryer. I asked for a turkey blt on a gf bun. She said fine. When the food came out, I had salad with croutons on the plate and the sandwich did not look gf at all. So I checked and they had bought be out a normal one! Good job I checked. Also the fries are no longer gf. Then I was given a salad instead of fries- which on investigation had some dodgy sauce on a little bit, buried under lettuce leaves. I did not eat that! Eventually a gf turkey blt did come, it was ok and I wasn't ill.
I wish they had gf cinnamon swirl French toast (he glutinous version is so wonderful!). Maybe one day. I ordered the eggs Benedict without the muffin and the manager not only checked to make sure it was GF, she took a picture of the ingredients so that I could read them. The Benedict was very tasty and I felt just fine after eating it :)
Wonderful experience! Although there is not a gluten free menu, our amazing server, Adrianna, gave us great guidance. She checked with the kitchen about any items we questioned. The kitchen cleaned the grill for us before cooking our burgers. The garlic fries were delicious. Will eat here again!
This particular Ruby's is terrible. I ordered a gluten free burger and they gave me a bun that was not gluten free. And I even asked the waitress are you sure this is the gluten free bun? And she assured me it was and I was sick for a solid two weeks because of it. LEARN HOW TO EDUCATE YOUR STAFF
When questioned about the fries the waitress said they were gluten free. Pressed further she said they were fried in the same fryer as breaded items but that "It's not a problem unless you're really sensitive." I ordered a Bleus Burger on a gluten-free roll with a side salad in place of fries. I'm not sure if I got a regular roll or if there was a cross contamination issue, but within an hour I was very ill. I would not recommend eating here if you are gluten intolerant or Celiac.
It's basic diner food. There are only two specific gf options. The fries and the coleslaw are not gf, so the only sides are tomato slices or cottage cheese. The food is OK, but don't expect a lot of options.
You only have 2 options (hamburger or turkey sandwich) if you don't want salad. Fries have gluten per the deep frier. They also have yummy gf bread. Not many choices but the burger on gf bread was huge and delicious. (Offered a side of cottage cheese instead of the fries.)
My waitress was so dumb. She brought me French fries with my GF burger, although the menu says it comes with tomato slices or cottage cheese. The waitress comes back and I tell her and she asks whether I wanted the tomato slices or the cottage cheese, I said cottage cheese. She came back with tomato slices. She seemed to think nothing of it so I talked to the general manager.
I asked the staff at the Ruby'a at the airport. The burgers are grilled on the same grill that they toast the normal buns. NOT Celiac friendly.
The food was fine but I stupidly didn't ask if the gluten free breakfast sandwich was made away from the regular food. I can only assume not because I got a very painful reaction from it. If you are trying to avoid or cut down on gluten, I am sure this place is fine for breakfast. Not ok for breakfast if you have Celiac like myself.
Went to Ruby's in Redondo Beach on 4th of July. Informed waitress that had to be gluten free. Was served sweet potato fries, after tasting I could tell they were not gf. Staff is not informed and management never even came by after knowing I was served food I had an allergy to. Huge failure!! The burger was awful too.Would give zero stars if I could!!
Yes they have a gluten free bun but staff doesn't know anything about what GF means. Ordering was very difficult and had to send food back twice. GF fail.
Have eaten here many times over the past couple of years. I explain upon ordering having a "severe allergy to wheat" and I've been okay/not gotten sick after eating. I order the Rubyburger with gluten free bun, turkey meat, lettuce, tomato, and Ruby sauce, with French fries (made in a dedicated fryer). I have to be clear to the waiter in my explanation every time, and be very careful and on the lookout (my g free daughter had croutons in her salad recently), but the food is good, atmosphere is great and I've not gotten sick.
Super yummy burger, gf buns and the fries have their own fryer, but this location was so hard to find. I lived in the area for a good few years and never bothered with this mall. As it turns out, there are no signs or maps anywhere and it's too much of a guessing game (especially for the craziness that is a sd Saturday night). I had to call and ask (inside the mall, across from AMC 20, park in the parking structure). Service was nice and friendly.
Table tents prominently call attention to the availability of Udi's GF buns. The menu has a bit more detail, the servers just stick to the script. Food is what I went to Ruby's expecting - awesome burgers, fries & malts! Parking was a challenge - the lot was full to overflowing - yet our party of 4 was seated right away. Service was prompt; the kitchen a little slower. Lots of young families & boisterous kids.
Can also deal with other food allergies.
Props to Rubys for finally providing GF buns. But shame on them for not having a dedicated French fry frier; everything is fried in that same fryer. Maybe some locations can guarantee uncontaminated fries, but this one is just too small for that. Decent food, but what child wants a burger without fries?
CRAZY GOOD burger on an Udi bun.
