Stopped here on the way to Galveston. In the midst of all of the fast food restaurants this was a welcome find. The GF selection is limited but the chicken and broccoli are good. Steer clear of the gravy though that’s included and know that they do not have a safe salad dressing if you are celiac.

There aren’t a lot of gluten free options between Houston and San Antonio, so were very happy to find Schobels. Our granddaughter with celiac thoroughly enjoyed her potato skins, and the rest of us enjoyed our meals as well, especially my husband, who got a delicious (and huge!) club sandwich. 😊

They worked to make sure we had several options for vegetables for our picky 4yo daughter with celiac. She enjoyed the grilled chicken, corn and carrots. Menu has other gf options marked

Only 3 items are marked as gf: dried sausage and cheese plate, sausage and soutkrout, and New York strip. I asked a blog ghetto salad and was told that it is not gf. Although the staff was kind, we left before ordering.

The manager, Luis, was very accommodating. He visited our table and helped us choose our meal. He even stated that he would be making our meal. We are also dairy-free, and he was able to take care of that too. He is a wonderful asset to the restaurant! The food was delicious.

There is no gluten free breakfast menu. I asked the waitress if she could cook my food on a wiped down part of the grill and she claimed that "they were too busy to wipe down the section between meals"

I was warmly greeted, and got the German plate to go and substituted carrots & german potatoes for the sauerkraut. Staff & manager were informed about cross contamination & gf items. They do have GF indicated on their menu, but the manager was also aware of modifications that could be made to have additional items safely. Food was delicious, and I will go back if in the area again.
