We ate a leisurely brunch. All our food was good and the staff was attentive to our needs. We appreciated finding a gluten free restaurant in Mt Vernon. They’ve moved around the corner to 1st Street.

Love this bakery! They’re giant cookies are so good. Many vegan options available as well. It’s so nice knowing I can order anything off the menu and don’t have to worry about cross-contamination of any sort!

I don’t have enough good things to say about this place. Dedicated gf. The food was delicious. I had the pizza and my non gf boyfriend had the fish and chips. He tried both and said the pizza was the best gf pizza he has ever had (I agree) and the fish and chips was some of the best he’s has even compared to non gf. They have a huge menu and lots of baked goods to choose from. Highly recommended.

This was the most wonderful and accidental discovery!

We stayed up in Mt. Vernon this weekend. After we had our first Shambala meal, we kept coming back. The food is a delight. I met the owner and shopped from her bakery items, including a delicious sourdough bread which I am feasting on at this moment. We brought home a selection of baked goodies for our children including a vegan/gf pizza crust that is to die for. Perfect for my little guy with egg sensitivity.

I had quiche, a burger and potato salad, a gyro. I drooled over other peoples veggie hash, pizza and other sandwiches.

Their adaptogen tea selection was really fun to try.

All around wonderful experience.

I can’t wait to go back!

within the last year the bakery has moved to their bistro location. they are now only open certain days a week. at times it is a hit or miss with the quality of the food and baked goods. on a number of occasions i have gone and the bagel or bread item i’ve purchased had been previously frozen. i’ve also gotten items such as cupcakes that are stale.

the other day i went in to purchase some lunch and all the bakery items where in ziplocks or plastic wrap in the display case. this is fine but not something i want to pay $5 per item for.

This place is 100% GF which is always a win for myself and my celiac kids. They were hesitant at first as it’s also vegetarian and my kids are not but after one meal of an amazing grilled cheese and potato salad, some delicious blue corn tacos and possibly the best and thickest French toast ever, my kids begged to come back the next day and repeat.

Amazing! So friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious!! The lemon sugar cookie with huckleberry frosting filling was fantastic. The rainbow vegetable medley was grilled to perfection, and the Sumer bean soup and rolls were wicked good as well. We will be coming here again!! Such a good find for gluten and dairy free needs.

Have only tried a handful of items, but never disappointed. Can't wait to try every menu item. My new breakfast spot. I especially like the fact they try to keep things non-GMO. The bread texture and flavor is very good. Everyone so far has been friendly and helpful.

Shambala Bakery & Bistro is a wonderful place to relax, sip some coffee or tea and enjoy gluten-free pastries as well as breakfast and lunch options. I was pleasantly surprised to try their gluten-free pizza crust! I tried it once and was back for lunch for the next 3 days in a row because it tasted so good! It truly was unbelievably good! I recommend this type of experience to everyone.

I got there just at closing-time, so I grabbed a few items. Yummy rolls that aren't dense. The pizza dough actually has stretch! Looking forward to coming back to sample the dine-in options.
