Awesome burger on gluten free bun! So great to eat a burger out and on a bun!!!
I usually like this place, but had a concerning experience the last time that I went. When I inquired about having the chicken, the cashier said the manager didn't know if it was gf. When I then inquired about the beef, the cashier refused to let me speak to or ask the manager. When I told her that we would have to leave if I couldn't get an answer, then she agreed to ask the manager. Food is good but service was not accommodating and I didn't know if it is safe to eat here anymore.
I heard that this business offered GF options. They offer UDI buns as a option. The worker at the counter did not know what GF meant but was willing to find the allergen menu. After looking over the allergen options and asking a lot of questions, I was willing to give it a try. As a celiac, I do not generally just try out places unless I feel confident that I am not going to get contaminated. The cook came out and said how they prepare the food. Which made me feel very comfortable. They have a dedicated fryer for fries. I did not get ill and would suggest this place. Just make sure you ask and do your part to protect yourself from cross contamination.
No stars- Tried to go to the Smashburger in Riverside Square Mall in Hackensack NJ. Staff was not knowledgeable. Although the sign shows Udi's buns as an option for $1 upcharge the staff told me that was all that was gluten free. I asked "How do you order it as a burger then?" They pulled out their allergy book and told me none of the burgers were gluten free- the cashier went as asked the manager and they told him the meat was OK but no cheese or toppings- except maybe lettuce. He also told me the salad dressings were not gluten free so I could have a plain burger or a plain salad? I left hungry and frustrated and will not be returning.
Delicious gf burgers and fries!
GF Bun available and great toppings.
Food is good. Just another burger place. Allergen menu is online. BUT finally you can have a bun with that burger. Dedicated fryer for the fries. If you aren't sure about ingredients being gluten free, ask for the manager. He's actually the one who walked us through gluten free options and warned us about toaster. Lost a star because UNtoasted GF buns are a little blah. I may ask if grilling it is an option next time.
I had the Avocado chicken burger, but was told the fries are fried in the same fryer as the onion haystacks. They offered me some raw veggies or a side salad. They also have an allergen menu on their website, however the burgers are marked using their normal buns. Now that they use Udi's buns it's hard to tell which burgers are safe, but it can be used for all the sides. If the manager and staff are informed they are celiac friendly, and the manager here told me they were getting more and more training about allergens. Hope that's chain-wide!
GF buns, a dedicated fryer, knowledgeable staff, fast service and good food. I'm not sure what else you could ask for. We'll definitely be back.
This place is great. Not only will they do a bunless burger for you (yeah, that sounds odd, but you cut it up like a ground steak), but they also have a gluten free bun for like a buck or two more. However, if you get it, I would suggest that you ask for extra sauce as it is a touch dry... or, at least, dryer than a regular bun.
Gf buns available. As with Mighty Fine, go with the bigger burger, or the puffy gf bun is too much bread for the meat. The rosemary fries are good.
Nope if you want a salad sure but no burgers are GF here.
Just ate there and they carry Udi's buns. The cheeseburger had a good taste and the fries are yummy too. I ordered GF but the order came with a gluten bun, they took it back and brought out a GF cheeseburger and apologized. Might be good to make sure when you order it is understood. But the food was tasty. 1st visit,so if I react I will add to this review.
Amazing and aware
They have Udi's buns!
Yes they serve Udi's gluten free buns but they completely ruin them by toasting them in the same machine for regular buns. That's not gluten free at all. What's the point of acquiring a contract with Udi's (a dedicated gluten free facility) and not even bother to have a separate toaster? Way to cheap out. I'm grateful to the cashier who was bright enough to advise me about the cross-contamination.
