Great service and food, but was told they don’t have a dedicated fryer, so couldn’t have anything fried.

Overall positive experience. When I notified the waitress that I had celiac, she explained the “allergy alert” process to me and then went to talk to the kitchen. When she returned, she did confirm there was a dedicated gf fryer and cooking space as well a gf buns and said a manager would bring out my meal. I ended up ordering a salad, so I can’t speak to the fried food, but a manager did bring it out. I didn’t have a reaction and the salad was good so I was happy. Only complaint was that the menu wasn’t clearly marked so I was a little worried, which is why I stuck with something on the safer end 🙂

Staff will direct you in what you can eat. They have a few options & food is decent. No dedicated fryer, most meats & sauces are GF, as is coleslaw. Fun, outdoor atmosphere on the wharf.

I had the brisket with potato salad and watermelon and it was excellent. Disappointed that there wasn’t a dedicated fryer for French fries. Would definitely go back.

Gluten free menu available. Server was very knowledgeable and asked the chef if unsure. Food was excellent. My husband loved the brisket and I had the pulled pork and added a side of grilled corn. The bbq sauces were also GF. I had a milkshake for dessert which was yummy. The only thing I was unsure of was the paper straw in the milkshake so I switched it out for a plastic straw. I will definitely go back.

Fantastic GF menu and knowledgeable staff. Upon ordering from the GF menu, we were asked if it was preference or an allergy, and once we confirmed allergy, they were super helpful.

My husband and daughter both have CD and loved their meals. My husband had the baby kale salad, the lobster roll on GF bun

and watermelon and my daughter had the pulled pork platter with potato salad and baked beans. Both BBQ sauces that were brought to the table were confirmed GF. Will definitely be back!

I am completely confused by all of the good reviews for this place. I had the 1/2 chicken, it came with coleslaw, and a side of Boston baked beans. Plain and simple it was one of the worst meals I have ever had and I definitely will never go back.

Just had the gf chili glazed salmon and it was amazing! Have had the gf lobster roll several times, too, and loved it! I have eaten here at least 10 times and never have gotten sick (celiac friendly). The gf menu is pretty extensive and food is always delicious! My husband eats off the regular menu and always loves it, too.

They have a separate gluten free menu and all meats are GF but my experience here was not good. Service was terrible and the brisket was 90% fat. The food was cold when it came out. Very overpriced for what it was. Would not recommend.

Great experience today. The menu GF has a ton of options, including GF bread for sandwiches and both their signature BBQ sauce--and both the waitress and manager were great with communication about my GF needs. Manager brought over the GF apps and my meal separately and both times confirmed they were GF. We got deviled eggs for an app (yummy!) And I got a pulled pork sandwich on a GF bun- which was delicious! Great meal all around!

Deviled eggs appetizer were excellent, also the hogs wings appetizer also excellent. Had GF chicken entree, excellent. My husband had a full rack of ribs, were good but a bit dry not as tender as you would expect but good.

**I ordered a strawberry dacquri which tasted very good but must have had a gluten containing alcohol because my stomach was exploding all night - it is my own fault because I forgot to remind our server to make sure the bartender used GF, usually it's just rum which is safe. I don't think there was gluten in any of the meats or sauces so it had to be the drink - my reminder to ALWAYS REMIND about GF!

Awesome food and wide selection for GF options. Waitress was very knowledgable about food sensitivities and the manager brought out my food and specified each time that the cook was aware of my allergy. The waitress even wrote down the brand of sandwich rolls they used and researched the local store I could buy them. Highly recommended!

We are vacationing in Newport, and my husband is a big BBQ fan, but I am also a vegetarian. I saw the GF menu on here and wanted to give it a try. They had yummy Estrella beer, GF buns, and a dedicated fryer. I asked if they could grill up some veggies and make me a sammich. They were more than happy to do that. It was seriously delicious! Go there!

Wow! One of the best GF menus I've seen. The staff was incredibly knowledgable and the manager made a point of serving my food since wait staff handle gluten food. Excellent food, many options, all in a great open air downtown Newport location. Did not get sick which says a lot since I am highly sensitive.

Our family has been there twice. Some fun and unique apps. Gf Beer to die for and French fries made in a dedicated fryer. Ribs, chicken, burgers are fantastic. Mgmt wants to do gf well. They are owned by The Mooring. Service is great. Didn't give another star as wrapped non gf cornbread ended up on plates. Oops.. They promptly corrected. I didn't get sick from the food and I am extremely sensitive to cross contamination. Enjoy!!
