Gluten Intolerant

We've eaten here maybe a dozen times but we will not be returning. We always let them know about my wife's gluten allergy, and we've always been well taken care of. However last time, she asked if she could order a the Spicy Tuna Roll. That's not exactly on their menu, but they said they could make the Spicy Tuna Tempura and leave out the tempura flakes. When it came, we were assured the tempura flakes were not there. However when she took the first bite, she immediately knew there were tempura flakes in it. The waiter went and asked the chef, who said he thought they were gluten free and he left them in even though the order said "gluten free" and "no tempura flakes". The manager came out but didn't even apologize. He did comp that roll, as well as a replacement. But we were just so disappointed that they could drop the ball like that when they were told about her allergy multiple times, and then reassurred us multiple times that it was gluten free. We will not be returning.

Incredible food, great atmosphere and very safe if you take time to talk to your server about your level of gluten intolerance. I have been eating here regularly for 8 years and have never had a bad experience. Highly recommend!!

Food tasted great and staff was knowledgeable about what items do and do not have gluten, but there is still the issue with cross contamination since there is no dedicated areas and I (celiac) got sick from eating there. My husband is only gluten sensitive and hasn’t had any issues.

No dedicated fryer so fried items are not safe for celiacs for the potato flour tempura they use. So disappointed after reading previous reviews. They do have options for raw sushi using Gluten Free Tamari instead of Soy Sauce.

Hands down our favorite restaurant in Austin even though it's located in Cedar Park. We go for lunch and get the bento box that includes teriyaki chicken, tempura veggies, a modified FRIED California roll, miso soup, salad, fried shrimp, and fresh fruit. Always the best service and such a treat to indulge in.

I ate here for lunch and was able to order their sushi and sashimi platter. I can't remember the last time I was able to order a lunch special/box like this. It was so good. The shrimp tempora melted in my mouth and the toppings on the sushi paired perfectly and were delightful on the tongue. I now have a favorite sushi place!

An unbelievable dining experience - our waiter was knowledgeable and very aware of my gluten intolerance. I did not get sick from this meal which is huge - I had the delicious truffle oil edamame and two tempura rolls made with potato flour. Also happens to be the best sushi I've had (much better gluten-free awareness than both Uchi and Uchico) - definitely need to look beyond the exterior cause it's looks are deceiving.

Incredible experience. I was so excited by the option to have tempura, that all I ordered was an extravaganza that included lobster, salmon, sweet potato, asparagus and avocado. They brought gf soy and tempura sauce. They have a dedicated fryer and use potato flour for their gf guests. Everyone was informed and the service was fantastic. Don't miss this one if you are in Austin.

Had an amazing experience last night! Was treated wonderfully as well by Chef Andy. When I asked what I could order off the menu, his response was anything you like I will make it gluten free and he did. Best sushi and rolls I have had since being diagnosed three years ago. Beats Uchiko in my opinion and is less in cost. Restaurant is beautiful and modern inside as well.

The food was great, the chef was absolutely wonderful and careful. The waiter made sure to double check what changes needed to be made to accommodate the gluten free requests and the experience was an excellent one.
