The Canteen is part of the Stowe Resort and is upstairs in the Adventure Center; it's a very nice cafeteria, self-serve restaurant. We were told they could do GF pizza and had GF bread for sandwiches. I was a little nervous, but my son really wanted pizza. Our other option was to go to the hotel and order burgers in their restaurant. I think we were the first customers so we gave it a shot.I was amazed by how good the pizza was. I honestly expected an Udi's pizza from a box and tossed in the oven. This was our first time in Vermont so what we experienced may be normal, but compared to what we see at home, I was in shock. The pizza dough had some herbs and spices in it, it was baked to perfection and was actually crunchy. We had sausage and that was good on top.They handled the pizza prep well because neither of us got sick :-). Something we always risk when going to a new place and ordering something that is not normally GF.If we are ever lucky enough to go back to Stowe, I will have no problem eating here again.
