They always tell you they can't promise things won't be cross-contaminated, but they still cook your steak and chicken perfectly! My only complaint is the limit of sides to choose from, but that's to be expected.

Before going, I looked at their GF options online- they offered a steak kabob - steak and grilled veggies, no rice. Had to be ordered with NO marinade and no seasoning, other than salt and pepper. Talked extensively to the waitress, explained Celiac and the seriousness of my request. Asked if the manager and kitchen have special protocol for food allergies, etc... She assured me that my order would go to the manager. I ordered the steak and veggies, NO marinade, NO seasoning, just salt and pepper. Also ordered a baked potato, and asked if their sour cream is GF (I know that most is, but one local restaurant insists theirs isn't, so I always double check). 40 minutes later, FOURTY, our food arrives. My steak kebob is dripping in marinade, and a dry baked potato. I knew I wasn't touching the meat, but asked about sour cream or butter. She said that "nobody knew" if they had gluten. I said, "Isn't it just butter"? "Yes, but it's whipped.". "Is there anything else in it?", "Nobody in the kitchen knows". Then she argued with me that the marinade was fine, even though their own menu and their menu online stated that it was NOT. Yeah, so I waited 40 minutes for a dry baked potato. So disappointed. She then offered to go back to the kitchen and have it remade with no marinade (imagine that?! The way I ordered it!!!!). I told her no thanks, at this point it had been a full hour since I originally ordered, and I had ZERO confidence in their ability to handle food allergies. Will never go back.
They do have a gluten free menu, which is probably short enough that it could fit on a 4x6 notecard. They can make steak, pork chops, chicken, or steak kabobs gluten free, but they don't offer any seasoning. They would not even put mushrooms and onions on my steak because those were seasoned. They also had about four side dish options and a couple of salads. That said, the server was knowledge and the steak was good, though nothing I couldn't have made at home. The peanuts were a nice alternative to bread and made me feel slightly better about missing out on their famous rolls.
Small GF menu good food. Ask for menu management also comes by to check in before you order. Can call in an hour in advance for GF roaster chicken
Can't have any seasoning on the meat, can't have a baked or sweet potato because they are fried, can't have their butter (they say). Managers will come and speak to you about the preparation which is nice but their is cross contamination and not many options other than steak with plain steamed veggies.
Small GF menu, but my steak and vegetable choice was expertly cooked and delicious. Explained to our server, Brady, that I'm Celiac and he took very good care of me and made sure everything was safe. The manager came by several times, too. If they get more folks coming in who must eat GF perhaps they will increase the number of GF choices they offer.
I've been here 3x since being diagnosed with celiac. Never gotten sick. They have a limited gluten free menu. However, if you are going for steak then you are pretty safe. The GF menu will state how to order, i.e. no seasoning or butter brush on steaks, no croutons, etc. Salad dressings are limited so think ahead and bring your own. They do offer a few sides like potatoes- baked & sweet as well as seasonal veggies. No rolls of course w/that crazy yummy butter but there is always peanuts! Buckets and buckets of peanuts! Staff has always been understanding and helpful. Love this place!
Very happy dining experience. While they don't have a gluten-free menu, they are gluten friendly and my waitress was able to make suggestions and tell me, "No, you can't have that!" I appreciated that, as this was my first time eating in a restaurant since going gluten-free. I had the 6 oz. sirloin (spice rub-free), the fresh mixed vegetables and the mashed potatoes-- all were delicious. A different server brought the food to our table. Since others in my party also got the sirloin, I asked if my dish was the gluten free one, as she wasn't the person who took my order. She was confident in her answer of yes, which was a huge relief. It showed me they take special issue requests seriously, from order to preparation to service. Very happy with my service and meal- two thumbs up!!
I have had good experiences at other Texas Roadhouse locations, but this one is the worst. The food mostly tastes fine--what there is of it. The "Gluten Free Menu" is a xerox copy of some items on the menu that should be gluten free, but it actually forgets to list key ingredients such as salad dressings for the salads and seasonings for the meats. My server had no clue what she was doing. She refused to ask them to put salt and pepper on my steak because she was afraid they would accidentally gluten me, but brought me a salad with croutons on it. Then she couldn't figure out why I couldn't eat them and required a somewhat lengthy conversation to send it back. When she returned, she announced that the kitchen had told her that the ranch had gluten in it--the ranch that was sitting in a cup on top of my salad. I've been to this location a couple of times, but I'm finished trying to make it work. Don't go here if you want to have a pleasant and safe meal.
Ive eaten here a few times now and haven't gotten sick. They have a gluten friendly menu and although I can't have the seasoning, the steak is delicious without. I have celiac and very sensitive so I think they do take seriously. they do have a gluten sensitive menu they call it.
Our server got us a gluten-free menu and spoke to the chef regarding cross-contamination. I had the salmon, which was delicious! Along with a baked potato and mixed veggies. They made mention of having gluten-free butter and it was very good. I did not have stomach pains and felt comfortable eating here.

I got sick here. Theoretically you should be ok with a steak, salad and mashed potatoes IF they make you a fresh salad and do not use the grill baste on your steak. However I got a salad with the croutons picked out (crumbs all over it) which I had to send back and I'm pretty sure I got sick from them using the grill shortening anyway despite my conversation with the manager. I'd be willing to try again on a less busy night but I would not go on a busy night like Friday or Saturday because the kitchen just doesn't care. Fries are not safe as they do not have a dedicated fryer and the dirty rice is not GF either.
The wait staff was wonderful. However there was some missed communication with the kitchen staff. Most everything was good and made to accommodate gluten free EXCEPT for the steak. I got a 6 oz sirloin and it was very tasty, my first clue it was NOT gluten free.
They do not have a dedicated gluten free menu but as soon as I said those words the chef was at my table. He helped me with my order, knew to prepare the foods separately to decrease the risk of contamination, and knew what sauces I should avoid, Highly Recommend!!!
