I used to come here back in the day for cannolis but I got a little scared of the cross contam potential. I decided to come by today because I saw people trying the subs and I had to have one if it was safe! They confirmed they do have have a dedicated slicer and area and change gloves, but he did confirm all of this with a piece of bread he was eating that had crumbs falling out of his mouth 😂 but yet I followed through. The sub was the best sub I’ve ever had. They know what they’re doing.

Great old school Italian deli. Not everything is GF. But, There is a dedicated slicer. And everyone is well versed in avoiding cross contamination.

The food is AMAZING! A meatball parm sub was something I missed eating. They have a huge variety of choices. Their deli has Boars Head cold cuts.

I’m thrilled to say ‘I’ve found a new, great and safe place for delicious food!’

We ordered gf chicken Parmigiana, gf chicken Marsala, gf cannolis, and a gf Italian sub. When ordering on the phone they assured me that they cook and prep everything separately and that all gf items would be packaged separately and labeled. They were extremely helpful and informed me that as long as they were given notice everything could be made gf. The cannolis were amazing and something I haven’t had since being diagnosed with Celiac. My son loved the Chicken Parmigiana and ate the whole thing. We also made a large regular catering order and everyone seemed to enjoy the non gluten free food as well

This was the best sandwich I’ve ever had. It was an actual gluten free hero bread, crunchy and so good. I’m a celiac and I had no reaction. They also have gluten free Canolis and frozen desserts. Highly recommend.

Not careful with cross contamination when i stopped in for a visit. Ordered a GF sandwich and saw they used the same knife that just cut a regular hero. Pointed it out but got a totally disgusted look. Was a complete waste of my money for an overpriced sandwich to begin with.

Update January 2014- went back to try again because of so many raves. Went to order a gf sandwich but they were out of their regular bread so they had me pull a pack of Udi's hamburger bun from the freezer. They nuked it and made the request. It was terrible, strike two.

Vito, VJ, Sal, Peter - all the guys at Little Italy are awesome! extremely knowlegable about gluten contamination. They have a dedicated gluten free slicer and boars head deli which is gluten free (just let them know when you order so they change gloves). Their selection of frozen gf products is great.

I've had family get-togethers catered gluten free, they've prepared gluten free wraps & heros on a regular basis (when's the last time you had a gluten free Italian combo!)

I highly recommend this place to anyone who has celiac or is gluten sensitive.
