The Green Leaf Grill

We were staying in Waynesboro VA one night and Trip Advisor said this restaurant had good gluten free foods on the menu and it looked like a nice casual restaurant in down town. I have Celiacs disease so we decided to go there. The gluten free shrimp and grits were gluten free and good!

I eat here about once a week and it is one of a very select few where I feel safe. The owner and manager know me and take care to make sure my order is prepared safely. However, even when they aren't there, I know I will be safe. They have gluten free wraps that are delicious, but my favorite thing to do is order from the specials that change daily. The fish and seafood is really good! They only have a shared fryer, so avoid the chips and fries.

Great food plenty of GF choices. Staff very knowledgeable and many options. Fun atmosphere! One word of caution: even tho the homemade chips are GF they DON’T have a dedicated fryer. But they will caution you cause they really do know their stuff! Five star find for sure!

I’ve gotten gluten here. They don’t have a dedicated fryer. It was carelessness by a staff. Ordered food to go. Ordered a burger wrap and fruit. I got to where I was going and there were fries in my box. With no other food around, I took a leap and just ate the burger. The next day, I had rashes all over! I would suggest being very firm and making sure there is no cross contamination and checking your food before you go. I’ve been here before and it’s been fine.

Food came out fast and was great! They can wrap any burger or sandwich in a GF wrap... Really? GF buns and bread is not difficult to offer! :/

They have gluten-free dinner options and gluten free pizza. The food was delicious. They also have gluten free beer and hard cider. They will also make gluten-free dinners for kids.
