Unfortunately, like most of Hawaii, this restaurant does not understand GF. Avoid.
Me: Do you have any GF options? It’s Celiac.
Them: Yes, no problem. We have lots of options
*They proceed to mark up a menu for me with ~8 options. I usually find this type of confidence to be a great sign.*
Me: Questioning some suspicious inclusions, I ask about several listed items to find they include sauce containing wheat (e.g., soy sauce), deep fry along with breads, etc. and come to understand there’s really only one option - Pho
*I proceed to order Pho…get sick anyway*
P.S.
I travel a ton domestically for work. This was my first time to HI, and Honolulu is one of, if not THE, worst major city in the US for restaurant gluten awareness/ accommodation. I was shocked how bad it was in 2022…like going back 20 years in most other major mainland cities (or 5 years in Dallas…I kid Dallas…kind of). My recommendation…go to Florida, Caribbean, or Mexico…all MUCH easier in my experience.

I got glutened even after speaking with the chef. They promised me it would be safe and stuck shoyu chicken in my curry. Then gave zero apology once admitting it. I was sick for sooo long. Avoid!

The food here is to die for. And eating gluten free doesn’t feel like you’re missing out in anyway. Also CHICKEN WINGS - enough said right there. Go here, don’t question it, just do it

Staff was very knowledgeable about items with gluten in them. Many of their items are gluten-free, but it is not dedicated gluten-free kitchen

Update: we ate here 5 times and got sick the last time. We think it was because of gluten in the straws for the cocktails. Super sad, but we haven’t had the courage to go back even though we had a bunch of amazing dinners.
Celiac safe! Most of the menu is naturally gluten free or can be easily modified (like the pho) to be gluten free. Staff is knowledgeable about allergies and Celiac's. Neither my partner or I got sick and we both had the pho. They swapped out the braised meat and gave us a different cut of pork that was delicious. The broth is out of this world! I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu. Highly recommend!
Lots of items are gluten free or can be made gluten free. Got the fried chicken and the pho. Both were delicious. They made the fried chicken in a new pan of oil to avoid cross contamination. The hostess didn't bother to look up to greet us when we walked in, but the waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. Will return for the amazing food.
Many things here are GF or can be made GF. I had the pho; it was excellent. My wife had a dish with fried chicken that was also GF that I tasted. The chicken was fried with rice flower.

The only good thing was the food. SUPER hipster and the staff were kind of insufferable, but the food was admittedly really good and I didn’t get sick.

Stopped by their tent at the KCC farmers market and found lots of gf options. Pho was great.

INCREDIBLE!!! Do not leave Oahu without going here! The hubby and I shared the chicken wings and they changed the oil. The sauce on the wings is amazing. The pho was sooo good too, had an orange flavor to the broth. Make sure to have a reservation!
Best food we’ve eaten in Hawaii hands down. Incredible flavour and variety, and most can be made Gluten-free (even the fried chicken wings - the chef made a separate pot of oil to cater). Pricey but well worth the visit
